The training course was implemented over 14 weeks, spanning the entire 2023 summer-autumn rice crop season, corresponding to the growth and development stages of the rice plant and the occurrence and damage caused by pests and diseases.
Trainees receive theoretical instruction in the classroom and practical field training on techniques for planting, caring for, and controlling major pests and diseases in rice plants; and guidance on the safe and effective use of pesticides. Simultaneously, the learned knowledge is conveyed in an easily understandable and applicable way so that farmers can absorb and directly apply it to their agricultural production, helping to improve crop yield and quality, and minimize the use of pesticides.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Head of the Provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, emphasized that the course was organized to build a team of lecturers to meet the requirements of strengthening local resources to effectively implement Plan No. 5302/KH-UBND, dated June 16, 2021, of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program on key crops with high economic value and export potential in the period 2021 - 2025.
Through this course, technical staff and farmers will be equipped with the knowledge to produce safe and sustainable crops, improve economic efficiency in cultivation, and reduce losses caused by pests and diseases. This will lead to the development of sustainable agriculture based on ecological balance to manage crop pests and limit the overuse of pesticides in pest control; and simultaneously apply the learned knowledge to farming practices, increasing the resilience of crops.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the instructors and students proceeded with their studies and inspected the practical training site for the course.
