Opening Ceremony of the 31st (Expanded) Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee

On the morning of April 4th, the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee held the 31st (expanded) meeting of the Provincial Party Committee to consider and give opinions on many important issues.

Attending the Conference were Central Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung; Standing Deputy Provincial Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thi Chien Hoa; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Provincial Party Executive Committee, along with representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities in the province.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Central Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung emphasized that 2025 is a year of special significance with many important events for the country and the province. To ensure economic growth of 8% or more in 2025, and state budget revenue exceeding 10% compared to 2024, and to ensure the successful completion of the set goals and tasks, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung requested that delegates uphold a high sense of responsibility, promote democracy, and engage in frank and objective discussions and provide feedback on the contents and issues raised in the draft documents and reports. He also urged them to discuss and agree on the key tasks for the second quarter of 2025, ensuring feasibility, effectiveness, and suitability to the local situation.

At the conference, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Nguyen Thuong Hai, announced the Decision of the Party Central Committee appointing the following comrades to the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term: Nguyen Thi Thu An – Secretary of the Krong Nang District Party Committee; Nguyen Hai Dong – Secretary of the Krong Buk District Party Committee; and Nguyen Van Long – Secretary of the Lak District Party Committee.

Delegates spent considerable time reviewing and commenting on the draft report on the situation and results of the work in the first quarter and the direction of tasks for the second quarter of 2025. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2025, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to develop; trade in goods and business services were vibrant; prices of goods supplied during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake remained stable; economic growth in the quarter reached 6.5%, higher than the province's growth scenario; the size of the economy continued to maintain good development momentum. Compared to the same period, total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached VND 29,174.8 billion, an increase of 9.93%. State budget revenue in the province is estimated at 3,180 billion VND, an increase of 47%, equivalent to 40.47% of the central government's budget estimate and 33.3% of the provincial People's Council's budget estimate.

The provincial leaders congratulated the comrades who were appointed by the Party Central Committee to the Executive Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Investment attraction has been promising, with many investors coming to explore investment opportunities in the province. Agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production continues to develop steadily, and the prices of agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, rice, and durian remain high, increasing the income of people and businesses and contributing to the development of the province's agriculture.

In particular, the activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak province, and the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, will take place in March 2025, attracting a large number of tourists to the province and boosting the development of service industries. Total tourism revenue in the first quarter of 2025 is expected to increase by 95.28% compared to the same period in 2024, and the total number of visitors will increase by 81.82%.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha provided information on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first quarter of 2025.

Social welfare work, care for war veterans, poverty reduction, and the implementation of programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing continue to receive attention and are promptly carried out. Land management, resource and environmental protection, and administrative reform are actively implemented. National defense is strengthened, and sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security are maintained.

Party building and the construction of the political system continue to receive attention. As of March 24th, the entire provincial Party committee had admitted 353 new Party members, bringing the total number of Party members to 89,596.

Besides the achievements, the implementation of tasks in the first quarter of 2025 still faced some limitations; the production and business activities of enterprises have not shown much improvement, and the number of enterprises temporarily ceasing operations continues to increase compared to the same period in 2024; the removal of difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing investment procedures for projects is still slow; the understanding of the situation, thoughts, and aspirations of the people is sometimes not timely or thorough enough; and the social criticism work of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations is sometimes limited.

Nguyen Hoai Duong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, chaired the discussion session at Group 1.

At the conference, delegates divided into three groups to discuss important topics such as: the report on the results of tasks performed in the first quarter and the direction and tasks for 2025; the report on the continued implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated December 25, 2017, of the Central Committee on some issues concerning the continued reform and restructuring of the political system's organizational apparatus to be streamlined, effective, and efficient, and the orientation of tasks in the coming period; and the draft plan for merging the Provincial Radio and Television Station into the Dak Lak Newspaper...
