On the morning of December 19th, Ha Tinh province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project of the Ha Tinh Museum on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Thanh Sen Ward. This is one of six key projects simultaneously launched in the province to create a competitive atmosphere to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Central Committee member and Deputy Minister of National Defense , Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, along with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments and agencies of Ha Tinh province.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, emphasized the political , cultural, and long-term development significance of the commencement of the Ha Tinh Museum construction project on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day and in anticipation of the 14th National Congress of the Party. This is one of the key projects demonstrating the determination to make breakthroughs in infrastructure, creating momentum for development in the 2025-2030 period.

Ms. Nguyet stated that Ha Tinh is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions with many famous figures and valuable heritage sites, but it lacks a space for displaying them appropriately.
"The construction of the museum aims to preserve and promote historical and cultural values; educate the younger generation about traditions; improve the quality of people's spiritual lives and contribute to socio-economic development," emphasized the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province .
The Ha Tinh Museum project, invested by the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transportation and Urban Development, is being implemented on a 22,928 m² plot of land with a total investment of 305 billion VND. The main building consists of a 4-story structure with a construction area of 3,580 m² and a total floor area of 12,990 m².

The Ha Tinh Museum is designed based on the concept of "The Flow of Ngan Hong River," drawing inspiration from the core values of the land and people of Ha Tinh.
In its unique geographical structure, Ha Tinh is situated between the majestic Truong Son mountain range and the vast East Sea. While national transportation routes form a North-South connection axis, the river system with its four main waterways acts as natural arteries running along the West-East axis, enriching the cultural and historical landscape of the region.
The concept of "The Flow of Ngan Hong River" is expressed through modern architectural language, as a slice of the flow of time through Ha Tinh. The building's form is created on the intertwining of dynamic and static elements, between solid and void spaces, suggesting layers of historical, cultural, and archaeological sediments.
The philosophy of yin and yang is also applied throughout the architectural layout, creating overall harmony while evoking the image of winding rivers that have flowed persistently through the long history of Ha Tinh.

Upon completion, the Ha Tinh Museum is envisioned to become a landmark architectural project, simultaneously meeting the aesthetic requirements and promoting the local cultural and historical heritage.
More than just a place to display and preserve artifacts, the museum is also a space for traditional education, introducing the historical process and typical revolutionary values of the Hong Mountain and La River region.

The Ha Tinh Museum was established in 1992 but faced many difficulties regarding its facilities for a long time. Initially, the museum was located in the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area, covering an area of approximately 500 m². In 2018, when this site was reclaimed, the museum had to move to share a portion of the Provincial Library building, with a total area of 750 m², of which only about 250 m² was allocated for artifact storage.
