Local authorities have implemented early preparations for tourism, ensuring a safe tourism environment and stable, high-quality services. Strict adherence to regulations regarding price listing, environmental hygiene, food safety, security, and road and waterway traffic safety has contributed to building a professional and friendly image for Vinh Long tourism.

Throughout the year, the province focused on effectively developing river tourism with numerous sightseeing routes on the Tien River, Mekong River, Thom River, and Long Ho River, connecting islets, eco-tourism destinations, traditional craft villages, and cultural heritage sites.

The province currently has 171 tourist boats that have been issued registration plates, meeting the regulations of the Tourism Law.

Many solutions for tourism development

According to Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, Vinh Long province aims to develop tourism into an important economic sector, striving to achieve a direct and indirect contribution of 6-7% of the province's GRDP by 2030 (currently around 4% of GRDP).

In 2026, the province aims to welcome approximately 9.84 million tourists, with estimated tourism revenue exceeding 9,365 billion VND.

To achieve this goal, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province has proposed a solution to develop provincial tourism according to the motto "one route, three destinations"; in which each locality (Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, and the former Ben Tre) must develop and create a typical destination, based on the potential and unique advantages of each area.

The Vinh Long area is attracting and completing investment projects including: the Mang Thit brick and pottery kiln complex; the Con Giong ecological tourism and resort project; the Mekong Delta agricultural museum project combined with agricultural experiential tourism and entertainment; the Cu Lao Dai ecological tourism project; and the Con Chim ecological urban area, commercial services, entertainment and tourism complex.

The Ben Tre area focuses on developing tourism associated with "Coconut Culture," continuing to improve transportation and ports; concentrating on exploiting and developing river tourism products, connecting inter-provincial and international routes.

This area focuses on attracting investment and developing key tourist zones and destinations: Mo Cay, Chau Thanh, Thanh Phu, Ben Tre ward, Giong Trom... to develop unique products such as riverine ecotourism, community tourism, cultural-historical tourism, and coastal resort tourism.

The province proactively coordinates with key tourism markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Can Tho to promote, market, and connect tourism routes and destinations, enhancing its ability to attract domestic and international tourists.

The province is determined to achieve the goal of building the tourism brand "Vinh Long - Land of Convergence," developing green and sustainable tourism, and preserving the distinctive cultural values of the Mekong Delta region.
