On February 7th, the people of Phong Coc ward (Quang Yen town) held the Dai Ky Phuoc festival at Phong Coc village communal house. This is one of the traditional festivals that the locality maintains and organizes annually.
Phong Coc Temple, located in Zone 4, Phong Coc Ward, Quang Yen Town, was built in the 19th century and is dedicated to the God of Agriculture and the Four Holy Mothers, who are revered as the tutelary deities of the town.
This year's Phong Coc Temple Festival takes place on the 10th and 11th days of the first lunar month . Following the incense offering ceremony and the opening drumbeat, the festival features many unique cultural and artistic activities and traditional games.
This is also an occasion for the local people to express their gratitude to the tutelary deity and the Four Holy Mothers for bestowing blessings upon the village, ensuring a bountiful harvest and a prosperous and happy life. At the same time, they pray for good health, peace, and greater success in their work and production in the new year.
Phong Coc Temple was classified as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) on March 22, 1988. Coc Temple is the largest and most beautiful of the six remaining ancient temples in Quang Yen town, with very sophisticated architectural and sculptural art.
