On the occasion of the 528th anniversary of the death of Empress Dowager Ngo Thi Ngoc Dao, on May 1st, Dinh Hoa commune (Yen Dinh district) inaugurated the Phu Nhi Festival - the Holy Mother Festival of Empress Dowager Ngo Thi Ngoc Dao (1420 - 1496), also known as Empress Dowager Quang Thuc, the mother of King Le Thanh Tong. She rendered meritorious service to three emperors of the Le dynasty, and especially had a great influence on the life, character, merits, and career of Le Thanh Tong, one of the most brilliant monarchs in the history of Vietnamese feudal dynasties.

The festival takes place from April 28th to May 4th (corresponding to the 20th to 26th of the third lunar month) with rituals, offerings of incense and flowers, and cultural and sporting activities such as: volleyball competitions, chess tournaments, tug-of-war, walking on a suspension bridge, and cultural performances. The festival attracts a large number of people and tourists from all over to offer incense and enjoy the scenery.

The drum performance showcased the heroic spirit of the soldiers of the Le Dynasty.

The mountain-themed tray is offered to the Holy Mother.
The festival aims to promote and educate about patriotic traditions and pride in the homeland; the merits and virtues of Empress Dowager Ngo Thi Ngoc Dao; and to preserve, protect, and promote the values of the national historical relics Thua Hoa Palace and Phuc Quang Ancestral Temple.

A large number of delegates, citizens, and people from the countryside who live far away attended the event.

People record their good deeds and pray for a prosperous and peaceful year.
This is one of the tourist destinations connected to the Dong Co mountain and temple complex in Yen Tho commune, and several other revolutionary and historical-cultural sites in the district.
