This event aims to showcase the cultural beauty of Hoi An's traditional crafts and villages; promote the skills and creativity of local artisans; and boost the effectiveness of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. It will take place at the Kim Bong Craft Village Center in Cam Kim commune and other craft villages and creative spaces in Hoi An city from May 31st to June 2nd.

Delegates performed the opening ceremony for the "Hoi An Traditional Crafts Festival III" and the "Hoi An Startup and Green Consumption Fair".
In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An City People's Committee Nguyen The Hung stated that throughout the history of the formation and development of Hoi An as a trading port city, traditional crafts and craft villages have always played a very important role. These are the culmination of the creative and dynamic labor of successive generations of residents living in Hoi An, reflecting the cultural exchange and adaptation between East and West.
The vibrant presence of traditional crafts and villages in Hoi An, ranging from agriculture and fishing to handicrafts, trade, and services, has contributed to the prosperous development of the Hoi An trading port city.

Throughout the history of the formation and development of Hoi An, the port city of Hoi An, traditional crafts and villages have always played a very important role.
Through cultural exchange, adaptation, and social development, many traditional crafts/villages in Hoi An continue to receive attention from the city for preservation and creative development, adapting to new conditions and making a significant contribution to the city's socio -economic development.
In October 2023, Hoi An city was honored to join UNESCO's Global Creative Cities Network in the field of crafts and folk arts.
"The event aims to introduce the cultural beauty of Hoi An's traditional crafts and villages to domestic and international friends, honor the creativity of artisans; contribute to inspiring creative ideas in the community, connecting craft villages; fulfill the commitments of a creative city that Hoi An has registered with UNESCO; and promote and spread the startup and innovation ecosystem," Mr. Hung said.

Visiting Hoi An during this time, tourists will have more unique and fascinating experiences and can unleash their creativity at Hoi An's creative spaces.
Taking place from May 31st to June 2nd, the "Hoi An Traditional Craft Village Festival III" and the "Hoi An Startup and Green Consumption Fair" include many rich and unique activities such as: a seminar "Hoi An - Traditional Craft Villages on the Rise", the launch of guided tours of Kim Bong woodworking village; a photo exhibition with the theme "Hoi An - A Creative City", and presentations of traditional crafts: Thanh Ha pottery making; Kim Bong wood carving; lantern making; making lion, celestial dog and earth god masks; Cam Thanh painting, bamboo and coconut making; net weaving and fishing gear decoration;…
In addition, there will be activities to connect creative experts with the participation of artists and artisans in designing handmade products, crafting handicrafts and souvenirs, displaying recycled products from Hoi An's Handicraft Village, and introducing the window frame collection of collector Bao Ly… promising to create a unique cultural and creative space for locals and tourists to explore and delve deeper into Vietnamese culture in general and Hoi An in particular.

The event aims to introduce the cultural beauty of Hoi An's traditional crafts and villages to domestic and international friends; while also continuing to promote and develop handicraft and folk art resources, connect craft villages, find markets for products; and expand cooperation and linkages in the consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products.
"Hoi An Startup and Green Consumption Fair 2024" is an opportunity to introduce and promote OCOP products, organic products, and recycled products… creating opportunities to develop local products in a professional manner, ensuring consumer health and environmental friendliness, and boosting the effectiveness of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign.
In addition, there are many other attractive activities such as: Hoi An culinary space, Hoi An children with traditional handicraft villages, the book exhibition "The Beauty of Traditional Craft Villages", the competition "Women Joining Hands to Build the Countryside - Cam Kim Ecological Craft Village", the lantern exhibition on the river, the exchange "Kim Bong Woodworking Village - Inspiring Creativity",… along with supporting activities in neighboring craft villages, bringing locals and tourists new experiences, helping them see the beauty of Hoi An from a different perspective - simpler and more rustic.
