(HNMO) - On the evening of May 19th, at the Ba Be Resort in Khang Ninh commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province organized the "Bac Kan Culture and Tourism Week" event, combined with the experience of tasting fragrant Ba Be green pumpkins in 2023.
Attending the event were leaders from the Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and representatives from tourism management agencies in Hanoi , Tuyen Quang, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Cao Bang. Delegates from the Tourism Association participating in the famtrip came from the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Son La, and Yen Bai.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Duy Hung said that in recent years, Bac Kan province has always recognized the important role of tourism in promoting socio -economic development and contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values and identity of the ethnic groups in Bac Kan province. The Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025, set the goal of gradually making tourism a key economic sector of the province. Bac Kan province has also allocated significant resources to develop tourism infrastructure, such as transportation routes connecting to the Ba Be Lake National Special Monument and the Cho Don Revolutionary Base Area.
Currently, Bac Kan tourism is building its brand as "Bac Kan - An attractive and friendly destination" in the hearts of domestic and international tourists. According to statistics, the total number of tourists visiting Bac Kan in 2022 reached 461,000, with total tourism revenue reaching 441 billion VND. In the first four months of 2023 alone, the total number of tourists to Bac Kan reached 477,000, with total revenue from tourism exceeding 450 billion VND. This is a positive sign for Bac Kan tourism after recovering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“To further develop tourism in Bac Kan, in the coming time, Bac Kan province will strengthen promotional activities, boost investment promotion, and open up new directions to awaken and exploit the province's tourism potential even more strongly. In particular, we will consolidate and build a better image of “Hospitable, civilized, and courteous Bac Kan people,” creating conditions to expand exchanges, spread traditional cultural values, and bring the image of the people and land of Bac Kan closer to domestic and international tourists,” Mr. Pham Duy Hung expressed.
The "Bac Kan Culture and Tourism Week" in 2023, associated with the Ba Be fragrant pumpkin experience, features many rich activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the special national historical site and scenic landscape of Ba Be Lake, enjoy unique ethnic cuisine and local OCOP agricultural products, experience the characteristic fragrant pumpkin fields in Yen Duong and Dia Linh communes of Ba Be district, and experience the cultural space of the Tay, Nung, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups of Bac Kan province…
Through the activities of the "Bac Kan Culture and Tourism Week" associated with the Ba Be fragrant pumpkin experience in 2023, Bac Kan province hopes to combine various cultural, sports, tourism, and commercial activities to create a series of outstanding events, thereby strongly introducing and promoting the unique cultural values of the province, promoting tourism potential, attracting investment, and launching the Bac Kan tourism season in 2023 with a series of diverse and rich cultural and tourism events taking place from May to December 2023.
