The family of poet Luu Trong Lu, in collaboration with Quang San Art Museum, is organizing an exhibition to commemorate the 115th anniversary of the poet's birth (June 19, 1911 – June 19, 2026).
"The 'Human Garden' doesn't recreate a literary 'monument,' but rather uncovers layers of everyday memories behind a familiar name. There, viewers can encounter handwritten manuscripts, old letters, and small family photos that contribute to a vivid portrait. In this space, poetry seems to return to its origins in life."

The concept of "love as a creative act" was chosen as the central theme throughout the exhibition. From this perspective, Luu Trong Lu's creative journey is inseparable from his personal experiences. Family ties, memories, losses, and encounters—all become the material for his poetry.
Behind the exhibition is the story of a multi-generational intellectual family that has persistently preserved its heritage. Beyond simply archiving documents, family members actively participate in recounting, interpreting, and connecting memories with today's public.
The "Garden of Humanity" panel discussion, held on the morning of May 23rd, attracted over 200 attendees and was an important part of that journey. Here, the poet's children gathered to share their memories and how they approach their father's legacy.

The seminar "Garden of Humanity" was attended by the family of the late poet Luu Trong Lu.
Journalist and writer Luu Trong Van offers the perspective of a keeper of memory spaces, director Luu Trong Ninh approaches heritage through cinema, and journalist Luu Trong Binh recounts everyday details of his family life.
Meanwhile, researcher Ly Doi contributed an academic perspective, placing Luu Trong Lu within the context of Vietnamese literature and art. The symposium resembled a conversation, where personal memories were shared and resonated with the collective memories of the public.
Throughout the entire series of activities, the family not only plays the role of "heirs," but also becomes a creative subject. Organizing the exhibition and seminar is a conscious choice to preserve and continue the values of poetry and culture in a modern context.
From a broader perspective, "The Garden of Humanity" raises questions about how society today approaches heritage. When memory is no longer something static, but a constantly evolving process, the role of the family becomes particularly important. Heritage lies not only in what has been written down, but also in how people choose to preserve and continue it in the present.
The exhibition will take place from May 22nd to 31st, 2026 at Quang San Art Museum (189B/3 Nguyen Van Huong Street, An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). Admission is free from 9 am to 5 pm daily, excluding the permanent exhibition areas.
