Two leading officials of Quang Ninh province expelled from the Party.

The Party Secretariat decided to expel Nguyen Duc Thanh and Diep Van Chien, two leading officials of Quang Ninh province, from the Party.

On May 26th, the Central Party Office issued a press release stating that, on the same day, at the Central Party Headquarters, after considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee regarding disciplinary action against violating Party members, the Secretariat found that Party members Nguyen Duc Thanh, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Quang Ninh; and Diep Van Chien, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee of Quang Ninh, had shown ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle deviations; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and a very negative impact on the prestige of the Party organization and the agency/unit where they work.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; and based on the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat of the Central Committee decided to expel Party members Nguyen Duc Thanh and Diep Van Chien from the Party.

The Secretariat of the Central Committee requested that relevant agencies promptly and consistently implement administrative disciplinary measures in parallel with Party disciplinary measures.

Previously, on May 8th and 20th, in Hanoi , the Central Inspection Committee held its 6th session, chaired by the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, Tran Sy Thanh.

At the meeting, the Central Disciplinary Committee reviewed and concluded on several important issues, including considering a report proposing disciplinary action against Party members who violated regulations within the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

The Central Disciplinary Committee has recommended that the competent authorities consider and impose disciplinary measures on Party members Nguyen Duc Thanh and Diep Van Chien.
