Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Macstar Group officially launched the Hai Phong - Vung Ang - Hai Phong container shipping route. The first ship named MACSTAR HAI PHONG docked at Vung Ang port, loading 222 TEUs of cargo, including containers of VinFast Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, Ha Tinh branch, and empty containers serving transit cargo from Laos.
The Hai Phong - Vung Ang - Hai Phong container service route was established to connect import and export goods in existing and developing industrial parks in Ha Tinh with Hai Phong international transit port. The transport route has competitive costs, large transport capacity, and at the same time contributes to reducing CO2 emissions.
The container route is expected to operate once a week, opening up opportunities for businesses in the Vung Ang Economic Zone and the North Central region to directly connect with Hai Phong international transit port. This form of sea transport is considered low-cost, safe, environmentally friendly, and reduces pressure on road infrastructure.
A representative of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company said: “The opening of the Hai Phong - Vung Ang - Hai Phong container route not only opens a new direction for regional maritime transport but also affirms the increasingly important role of Vung Ang port in the international supply chain.”
