Standing on the summit of Pù Xèo, gaze into the distance and admire the magnificent natural landscape.
Pu Xeo Peak is located about 60km from the former Thanh Hoa City. To reach it, tourists follow National Highway 47 to Tien Son village, Thuong Xuan commune, and then walk for about two hours to reach Pu Xeo Peak. Along the way to the summit, visitors will encounter ancient starfruit forests, interspersed with small huts built by locals for resting after hours of labor and production.
After conquering the forest trail, the summit of Pu Xeo appears before your eyes. The vast, peaceful, airy, and pristine landscape makes visitors forget all their fatigue. The climate here is fresh and cool, quickly dispelling the stifling heat of summer. In the afternoon, as the last rays of sunlight disappear behind the mountains, visitors gaze into the distance at the smoke rising from the stilt houses. When night falls, huts are set up on the summit of Pu Xeo so that visitors can experience the tranquility of the mountains and forests. There are no car horns, no dust, only the sounds of people talking, occasionally punctuated by hearty laughter. In the morning, visitors can watch the sunrise, with swirling white clouds and the distant reddish-pink hues of the rising sun.
Mr. Ngo Ngoc Son, from Quang Phu ward, who has experienced the summit of Pu Xeo mountain, said: "The road to the summit of Pu Xeo is still difficult, but once I got there, I was able to admire the majestic natural landscape, the fresh and cool climate, and all my fatigue seemed to disappear. Especially, I also had the experience of cloud hunting in the early morning, like being lost in a 'heavenly paradise'. The experience at the summit of Pu Xeo was really interesting, and if I have the opportunity, I will definitely return here. Those who intend to go to the summit of Pu Xeo mountain should prepare all necessary camping equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, cooking utensils, personal items, mosquito repellent, and enough drinking water for the entire stay. When here, tourists should pay attention to protecting the environment and comply with the principle of disposing of trash in the designated places to protect the landscape and environment here."

Besides exploring the peak of Pu Xeo mountain, visitors to this region can also visit and experience beautiful historical sites and waterfalls, such as: the historical and cultural site of the Lung Nhai Oath Ceremony; the architectural and artistic relic of Ho village communal house; and Hon Yen waterfall. In addition, visitors can enjoy folk songs and dances, and savor dishes reflecting the culinary culture of the Thai ethnic group, such as grilled fish, bamboo rice, steamed pork, grilled chicken, rock snails, and purple sticky rice; and stay in traditional stilt houses...
Mr. Le Huu Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan commune, said: Pu Xeo is a new tourist destination that has attracted many visitors who love to explore and experience it in the past two years. With the goal of making Pu Xeo an ideal destination for tourists, Thuong Xuan commune has strengthened its efforts to promote its value, potential, and advantages; and boosted investment in ecotourism development. It has directed organizations and associations to conduct thorough environmental cleanup to create a clean and airy space for tourists to visit and experience. From 2024 to the present, Pu Xeo peak has welcomed approximately 4,000 visitors, including international tourists. This is a positive sign for Thuong Xuan commune to continue implementing solutions to fully exploit the potential and advantages of Pu Xeo peak to develop tourism, create jobs, and increase income for the people.
Despite its potential and advantages, tourism development at Pu Xeo peak still faces many difficulties and challenges, such as: the lack of investment in transportation to Pu Xeo peak not only hinders travel for tourists but also acts as a barrier to developing services to meet their needs; the failure to attract businesses to invest in infrastructure for tourism development; and limitations in ensuring the safety of tourists...
“Currently, the trekking route to Pu Xeo peak, the seven-tiered waterfall, and the historical site of the Lung Nhai Oath Ceremony is one of the forest-based hiking routes in the mountainous communes of Thanh Hoa province. This is an important condition for developing tourism at Pu Xeo peak. In the coming time, Thuong Xuan commune will continue to strengthen the promotion of its potential and advantages for development; actively attract capable businesses to invest in building infrastructure here to develop tourism services. We will also strengthen efforts to ensure the safety of tourists and maintain environmental hygiene. We will encourage households with potential and advantages to develop tourism services to create jobs and increase income. However, for Pu Xeo peak to become a destination that attracts a large number of tourists, more attention from relevant agencies is also needed,” shared Mr. Le Huu Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan commune.
