These were the words of encouragement from Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, Vice Principal of the College of Radio and Television II, to journalism and communication students at the opening ceremony of the "Spring Newspaper Festival 2026 - Exhibition of newspapers from 34 provinces and cities" held on January 5th.
This event marks a significant milestone as, for the first time, the first editions of publications reflecting the new administrative structure of 34 provinces and cities (July 2025) are presented to the public in the most comprehensive and complete way. Simultaneously, this is also one of the activities celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 and the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

At the exhibition, the first 34 issues of newspapers, representing 34 newly established provinces and cities, were displayed prominently. Not only did they showcase innovations in design such as logos, typography, and layout, but the publications also clearly reflected the streamlined roadmap aimed at building multimedia communication agencies in the digital age. The exhibition not only reflects changes in name or administrative structure but also serves as evidence of a transforming Vietnamese press with strong developmental milestones.
The main event served as an open classroom to help students learn from the experiences of previous generations in journalism, and to clearly identify the opportunities and challenges of journalism in the context of digital transformation.
"If you choose journalism as a profession, write with a clear conscience. If you work in media, spread goodness. Technology may change, but the honesty, fighting spirit, and humanity of journalists are immutable values," Master Thang advised.

Students learn from the journalistic practices of previous generations who faced hardship.
Alongside the exhibition, a panel discussion titled "Tradition and Continuity" took place, featuring veteran journalists. Speakers exchanged views on the value of Lunar New Year newspapers and the distinctive cultural aspects of Vietnamese journalism.
