The cultural exchange between Russia and Asian countries has created a colorful picture, making this city different from many other cities in Russia, becoming an ideal destination for those who love to explore and experience.

The direct flight from Moscow to Vladivostok takes just over eight hours. At one end of Russia, people with European faces, familiar with every Asian dish, practice martial arts and listen to Korean music. Unlike other Russian cities, Vladivostok residents drive on the right hand side.

Vladivostok is distinctly Asian, as it is a port city that receives goods from almost every Asian country. Asian culture has played an important role in the city's life for most of its history, since its founding in 1860. The exception was during the Soviet era, when the port city was closed to foreigners.

Asian influences are everywhere in Vladivostok: in many local products, in shops, on every street. This is not surprising, since it is closer to Korea, Japan, China and even Vietnam than to Moscow.

Professor Sokolovsky, a famous Vietnamologist of the Far Eastern Federal University, took us to the city's Children's Art Center. This is an impressive oriental cultural space, with the presence of a tropical garden and a bookcase of Vietnamese and many Asian countries' art and culture.

The influence of Asia is very clear here, both historically and at present, with young people being particularly interested in Eastern culture. The development of cooperation between Russia and Asian countries following its Eastward policy in recent years has further boosted this.

Vladivostok is the most Asian city in Russia and also the most European city in Asia. For residents of neighboring countries, instead of flying long distances to Moscow or Saint Petersburg, it is a quick and easy way to explore Russian life. At one point, the Far East welcomed nearly a million foreign tourists a year, half of whom were Chinese nationals.
