According to the report at the conference, by mid-June 2025, Khanh Hoa province had 2,525 drug addicts and illegal drug users under management records. The management of drug addiction treatment at home and in the community has not been implemented synchronously, the number of drug addicts and users tends to be younger and increasing, causing difficulties in control and prevention. In 2024 and the first 7 months of 2025 alone, the authorities discovered 481 cases, arrested 886 drug criminals; thereby, 455 cases including 1,161 subjects were prosecuted.

Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that in order to effectively implement the project's objectives, communes and wards must not only mobilize the participation of the entire political system, but also proactively develop specific plans and solutions on drug prevention and control suitable to the characteristics and residential areas, associated with the responsibility of the leaders to ensure that at least 20% of communes and wards are drug-free by 2025 and 50% by 2030.

“Along with promoting communication and education on the harmful effects of drugs; strengthening management and community reintegration for drug addicts and offenders; the grassroots police force must focus on strengthening its grasp of the area, proactively deploying measures to combat and prevent drugs from entering residential areas and resolutely fight to eliminate complex drug hotspots…” – Mr. Nguyen Long Bien emphasized.
