On October 10th, the delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of the Thailand-Vietnam Cultural Street Gate in Nakhon Phanom City.
The Thai-Vietnamese Cultural Street Gate is a project built by the Vietnamese community in Nakhon Phanom with financial support from the city government and contributions from local and Thai expatriates. This is the second Vietnamese street in Thailand, after the one in Udon Thani which was inaugurated in December 2023.
The Thai-Vietnamese Cultural Street Gate is expected to be a tourist attraction, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality and serving as a place where Vietnamese culture is not only preserved and promoted but also blended with Thai culture, creating new values. At the same time, this project will also contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
During the working visit, the inter-agency delegation also worked with the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Ban Dong, Pamakab commune, Phichit province, the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Na-choc village, Ban May, Nakhon Phanom, and the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Udon Thani.
During the discussion on the management, operation, and promotion of the value of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Sites and the proposals from the Management Boards, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Manh Dong expressed gratitude to the Thai government for its support and facilitation, and to the Vietnamese community for their efforts in increasingly spreading the value of the Memorial Sites to local people, international visitors, and the Vietnamese community. This helps to introduce the life and great career of President Ho Chi Minh, and his affection for the Kingdom of Thailand in general and the Northeast region of Thailand in particular.
On this occasion, representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Association also organized a prayer ceremony for national peace and prosperity, paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and unification of the country, and the ceremony for the installation of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh donated by Bai Dinh Pagoda.
