Inauguration of Hoa Binh bridge project, connecting two border communes of Chau Thanh district

Provincial and district leaders performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening Hoa Binh bridge, connecting two border communes of Chau Thanh district.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Truong Van Hoan - Secretary of Chau Thanh District Party Committee; leaders of Chau Thanh District People's Committee, representatives of the District Construction Investment Project Management Board and local authorities of Hoa Hoi and Hoa Thanh communes.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An - Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee said that the construction of the new Hoa Binh bridge aims to connect the border communes of Hoa Hoi, Hoa Thanh and Bien Gioi commune of Chau Thanh district, especially helping the circulation of goods from the two secondary border gates of Vam Trang Trau (Bien Gioi commune) and Hiep Binh secondary border gate (Hoa Thanh commune).

The new Hoa Binh Bridge has a total designed length of 450m, 12m wide, and is paved with hot asphalt concrete on the bridge deck and road surface.

Previously, Hoa Binh bridge across Soc Hoa Hoi canal, built in 1987, had only 1 lane, narrow road, low load capacity, causing difficulties for vehicles participating in traffic, affecting the circulation of goods of the 2 communes of Bien Gioi and Hoa Thanh.

In June 2024, the construction of the new Hoa Binh Bridge project was officially started, with the Chau Thanh District Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor, with a total construction investment of more than 37 billion VND, from the provincial and district budgets.

In terms of scale, the new Hoa Binh Bridge has a total designed length of 450m. Of which, the length of the permanent bridge constructed with prestressed reinforced concrete is 39.3m long (after the abutment wall), 12m wide. The approach road has a total length of 410.7m on both sides of the bridge; 12m wide. The road surface and bridge deck are paved with hot asphalt concrete.

According to the plan, it will be completed and put into use by June 2025. The construction period is 360 days (from June 10, 2024 to June 5, 2025), but with the determination to complete early, the Hoa Binh Bridge project was officially handed over and put into use 1.5 months earlier than expected (actual completion date April 22, 2025).

Hoa Binh Bridge is designed with 2 lanes, can withstand large loads, and is equipped with a lighting system.

The completion of Hoa Binh Bridge is of great significance, not only serving the travel of local people but also helping Chau Thanh district gradually complete its traffic infrastructure and serve the needs of socio -economic development, national defense and security in the district.
