Fostering social media journalism skills in the context of mergers

On August 14 and 15, the Center for Journalism Training - Vietnam Journalists Association organized a training course on "Communication skills on social networks in the context of mergers". The course attracted the participation of nearly 20 students from 10 press agencies in the Southern region.

At the program, journalist Pham Tung Lam - Head of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City imparted many important knowledge and skills, helping to improve the effectiveness of journalism on social networking platforms.

The course focuses on methods of building and managing fanpages and digital media channels; strategies for attracting and retaining readers in a fiercely competitive information environment; understanding new media trends, user interaction habits and appropriate posting frequency.

In addition, students are also instructed in communication skills and situational awareness to build good relationships with readers and the online community. Lecturers also analyze in depth the characteristics, opportunities and challenges of communication work in the context of merging press agencies, requiring journalists to quickly adapt to the new organizational model, while improving multimedia working capacity./.
