The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee has just decided to unexpectedly reward athlete Nguyen Thi Tam, the first female boxer of Vietnamese Sports to win the runner-up position after the final match of the 2023 World Women's Boxing Championship, 48-50kg category.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just decided to award a Certificate of Merit to coach Nguyen Nhu Cuong, Women's Boxing, Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center; athlete Nguyen Thi Tam, Women's Boxing, Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center for outstanding achievements at the 2023 World Women's Boxing Championship.
The bonus for each individual with outstanding achievements is three times the basic salary, deducted from the City's Emulation and Reward Fund and transferred to the account of the Department of Culture and Sports for implementation.
Previously, on the evening of March 26, in the final match of the 2023 World Women's Boxing Championship in the 48-50kg category, Nguyen Thi Tam competed with host country India's Nikhat Zareen, the reigning world champion in this weight category.
The home team won the first round, but Nguyen Thi Tam equalized in the second round. In the decisive round, the reigning world champion overcame Nguyen Thi Tam and won the overall victory.
Athlete Nguyen Thi Tam is the first female boxer of Vietnamese Sports to win the runner-up position after the final match of the 2023 World Women's Boxing Championship in the 48-50kg category.
