Awakening the desire for innovation from the National Innovation Day 2025

The festival is an important event jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance . With the theme of 2025 being “Innovation for all people - Driving force for national development”, the festival is an annual national event to realize the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and national digital transformation.

Previously, in 2024, the Prime Minister announced that October 1 every year would be the National Innovation Day. The 2025 event will continue to affirm the Party and State's determination to promote innovation to become a strategic center in socio -economic development, improving productivity, competitiveness and sustainable growth of the country.

The festival is also an opportunity to honor creative and innovative ideas, while promoting the formation and development of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem.

This year 2025, the festival includes many key activities. The Festival's response ceremony took place on the morning of October 1, 2025 with the participation of General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , leaders of ministries, branches, localities, along with the business community, research institutes, universities, investment funds, international organizations and the media, expected to attract more than 800 delegates. At the same time, the Local Innovation Index (PII 2025) was announced along with many activities launched in response from businesses, international organizations, and experts.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Science and Technology hosted the Innovation Policy Forum with the theme "Innovation: Policy creation, promoting implementation to promote double-digit economic growth".

This is also an opportunity to announce outstanding mechanisms and policies on innovation that have been issued in recent times; and to introduce model innovations for agencies and units to refer to and apply.

At the same time, this is also an open dialogue space for management agencies, organizations, experts, businesses, and domestic and foreign investors to exchange strategic visions, share experiences, and discuss solutions to promote innovation in practice.

The Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2025 is one of the highlights of the Festival, with the participation of hundreds of domestic and international technology enterprises, research institutes, and startups.

The exhibition is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors, introducing new products and technologies in 11 key industries and fields according to Decision 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister.

Notably, the Forum “Promoting innovation and developing strategic technology industries” gathered the participation of many of the world's leading technology corporations such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Meta..., focusing on key areas including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum, cyber security, aerospace, thereby both sharing knowledge and helping Vietnamese enterprises connect directly with the global advanced technology network, opening up opportunities for research cooperation, technology transfer and commercialization.

In parallel, there are seminars on developing high-quality human resources, promoting STEM education and other diverse sideline activities such as: the kick-off program of the 2026 National VEX Robotics Tournament and honoring individuals and groups participating in international STEM competitions; Electric vehicle experience, STEM experience for students and the innovative product voting program (Better Choice Awards).

In particular, this year the Exhibition brings together many booths from leading technology countries such as the US, Germany, France, and Japan, creating a space for international exchange, opening up opportunities for cooperation, promoting investment and developing cutting-edge technology, contributing to realizing the goal of making Vietnam a high-income country by 2045.
