The "Supporting Students to School" program, Phase I of 2023, donated 5 electric bicycles (worth 9.9 million VND each) and 5 envelopes (worth 100,000 VND each) to 5 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, along with 50 grants for purchasing school supplies for 50 students (500,000 VND each).
In conjunction with the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan (Member of the Steering Committee of the Vietnam Association of People with Disabilities and Orphaned Children) mobilized businesses in Cai Be district to donate electric bicycles, 75kg of rice, and 500,000 VND to 5 children (15kg of rice and 100,000 VND each), and provided additional support of 1 million VND (500,000 VND each) to 2 disadvantaged students.

The My Tho City Charity Association donated 5 packages of essential goods (250,000 VND/package), and the Provincial Education Promotion Association donated notebooks to 5 students who received electric bicycles. The total budget for the first phase of the 2023 program was over 78 million VND.
After the program, the delegation visited the home of Tran Thi Kim Thi (a 9th grade student at Binh Ninh Secondary School, in Binh Quoi Thuong hamlet, Binh Ninh commune) to learn about her circumstances and consider awarding her a scholarship.
According to Mr. Le Van Be Chin, Director of the Tien Giang Provincial Children's Protection Fund, in 2023, the "Supporting Students to School" program will be held 20 times at 20 schools in economically disadvantaged areas and coastal regions, with a budget of 1.5 billion VND sponsored by the Tien Giang Provincial Lottery Company.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chat, Head of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department of Cho Gao District, presented the educational funds to the students.
In addition, the 20 programs were supported by organizations and individuals such as the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning, the My Tho City Charity Association, and businesses in Cai Be district, who contributed nearly 200 million VND (cash and in-kind donations) to the students. Furthermore, the program surveyed and built 20-23 "Homes for Students" to support students facing housing difficulties (valued at 40-50 million VND per home).
Reportedly, after 9 years of implementation, the 2023 program has undergone a major change: providing electric bicycles instead of regular bicycles so that the children can use them for a longer period, giving them better opportunities to attend higher grades.
