The award is a goal, an important motivation for coaches and athletes each year, with great significance both spiritually and materially."

He also affirmed that, as one of the three co-organizing units, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports always considers the Victory Cup a significant annual event and activity, as well as a typical, vibrant, and effective model of sports socialization.

The Victory Cup – “the Oscar of Vietnamese sports” – is an annual award jointly organized by Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), Vietnam Digital Sports Content and Trading Joint Stock Company (Vietcontent), and the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, with the mission of honoring the values, achievements, and noble sporting spirit of Vietnam.

Since its inaugural season in 2015, the Victory Cup has become the most prestigious award in Vietnamese sports. Over the past decade, the award has recognized more than 100 outstanding individuals – from sports legends to rising stars making their mark on the continent and the world .

Names like Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Do Hung Dung, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Quang Hai… have repeatedly stepped onto the podium of the Victory Cup, becoming a “museum of memories” of Vietnamese sports over the past decade.

The 2025 Victory Cup continues to maintain 11 voting categories, including the three biggest categories in Vietnamese sports: Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, and Team of the Year.

Overview of the meeting

In addition, there are categories such as: Coach of the Year; Young Athlete of the Year; Most Popular Athlete; Outstanding Disabled Athlete of the Year; Most Popular Athlete; Outstanding Disabled Athlete of the Year; Most Impressive Sports Image/Moment of the Year...

With 11 categories, the awards have been able to cover all criteria to comprehensively and fully honor outstanding individuals and teams, as well as the most remarkable, vibrant, and colorful activities in Vietnamese sports. 2025, with brilliant achievements such as the Asian gold medal won by the men's football team, the outstanding performance of Vietnamese swimming with Nguyen Huy Hoang's gold medal, and concluding with a meticulously prepared and promising SEA Games 33, is a prime example of this.

The Organizing Committee maintained the record prize money, totaling 750 million VND across 11 categories. The highest prize money, 100 million VND, was awarded to individuals and teams winning in the three categories of Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, and Team of the Year.

Notably, based on a 10-year series of documents reflecting the competitive spirit of the Victory Cup, the Organizing Committee has decided to finalize the list of nominees and conduct the voting after the 33rd SEA Games (from December 20, 2025) – the biggest international event of the year for Vietnamese sports – in order to select the most outstanding and deserving individuals and teams.

This expanded opportunity for recognition aims to select outstanding individuals who inspire millions of fans nationwide, and also marks a milestone of over 10 years of partnership with athletes, coaches, and sports journalists on a journey filled with effort, excellence, and emotion.

At today's awards ceremony, the Organizing Committee also presented the Outstanding Athlete of the Year award to disabled swimmer Pham Tuan Hung. This award, worth 25 million VND, was taken from the prize money of the "Impressive Image, Moment of the Year" category of the 2024 Victory Cup (50% given to the author and 50% donated to the athlete who overcame difficulties).

Having lost both his legs in an accident at the age of two and moving entirely on his hands, Tuan Hung, with extraordinary willpower, not only became a swimmer and footballer but also inspired many to overcome challenges in life.

In less than two years of swimming training, in 2022, the young man from Quang Ninh won a silver medal at the national championships, and a year later, a gold medal, placing him among the top contenders for the ASEAN Para Games where he finished 4th. Recently, Hung was selected among the top 10 athletes to qualify for the world championships.

Alongside his sporting journey, this young man born in 2002 is also a vibrant and energetic content creator with over 1 million followers on TikTok and more than 700,000 online followers. Tuan Hung's story once again affirms the profound humanistic value that the Victory Cup has pursued for over a decade – "Honoring those who inspire."

For its 10th year, the Victory Cup 2025 is sponsored by Dong Luc. The awards gala is scheduled to take place in early February 2026 and will be broadcast live on the Victory Cup fanpage, sports television channels and online platforms belonging to VTVcab, and social media channels like webthethao.vn belonging to Vietcontent.
