On September 16, K Hospital announced that the 2025 "Relay Journey" Run, organized by the hospital in collaboration with the Bright Tomorrow Fund, had officially kicked off, attracting the attention of thousands of athletes.

This second race will be held on October 12, 2025, at Trinh Cong Son walking street (Tay Ho ward, Hanoi city), to call on the community to join hands in raising funds to support cancer patients in difficult circumstances who are being treated at hospitals, centers, and oncology departments across the country. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to spread the spirit of positive living and social responsibility to those who have been and are fighting against cancer.

The second race is expected to attract 3,000 athletes participating in the following distances: 3km; 5km and 10km.

From the success of the first race held in 2024, a series of inspirational stories were shared. Among them was the story of Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuc (65 years old), a security guard at K Hospital who overcame cancer to continue to help society and the community.

In 2017, lung cancer began to bring difficult days to Mr. Phuc. In May 2017, when he felt prolonged fatigue and persistent cough, he went to K Hospital for examination and was diagnosed with stage III lung cancer. The decision to intervene immediately after that helped him escape many risks that seriously affected his health and life. In July 2017, Mr. Phuc had surgery to remove one lung at the Thoracic Surgery Department of K Hospital. After that, he went through a rather long recovery process, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy to prevent recurrence.

In December 2017, a few months after his initial recovery, Mr. Phuc was hired as a security guard by the Department of Examination. Since then, for 8 years, he has been persistently attached to his job, regardless of the time of day, holidays or weekdays. Mr. Phuc's daily work includes welcoming and guiding patients to the examination area, maintaining security and order in the examination and treatment area, cleaning, taking care of trees and landscapes, reinforcing tables and chairs, and preserving the department's facilities.

His current residence is also arranged by the department within the campus, convenient for resting and timely support for work. His family has three children, all of whom are married and live in many provinces. Being far away from his children and grandchildren makes him appreciate the environment with colleagues and medical staff, where he was treated to escape lung cancer. This is also the place where he found his own life value, contributed to society, served the community, especially patients who are fighting cancer - people who are in the same situation as he was in the past.

Mr. Phuc’s story conveys a powerful message: Cancer does not mean the end of all dreams and social obligations. The fact that a cancer patient returns to work at the hospital that treated him is a testament to his faith and also demonstrates the connection between the patient and the treatment facility.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuc has become a special inspiration in many races. At the “Relay Journey 2024,” Mr. Phuc won the award for “Oldest Athlete with Outstanding Achievement.” The story of Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuc is a testament to the power of belief, responsibility and human values in life.

Each individual who registers to participate in the race is not only an athlete but also a "messenger" carrying the message of sharing and connecting love. This is also the goal that the "Relay Journey" race of K Hospital aims for./.

In the first season in 2024, the “Relay Journey” Race gathered more than 1,500 athletes, raising 546 million VND. Immediately after the event, all donations were transferred to the Bright Tomorrow Fund and used to support 102 disadvantaged cancer patients nationwide.
