Vietnam Fatherland Front, city's socio -political organizations deploy key directions and tasks in 2024
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of January 3, Comrade Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee chaired a meeting with leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city to evaluate the work in 2023; deploy directions and key tasks in 2024.
Attending the Conference were comrades: Cao Xuan Lien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Le Tri Vu, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission.

In 2023, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city have promoted the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, closely followed the city's political tasks, actively propagated and implemented the 2023 theme, the Central and city's directive documents on socio -economic development, ensuring national defense and security. Patriotic emulation movements and campaigns were deployed with many creative and flexible methods suitable for localities and units. The emulation movement "Skilled mass mobilization" was seriously implemented, bringing practical results. Social security activities are increasingly becoming more substantial.
The work of supervision, social criticism, and participation in giving opinions on Party building and government building has been implemented closely and scientifically . The improvement of the organizational apparatus has been focused on; the work of developing union members, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, association members and the people has been organized and implemented. Successfully organize the Trade Union Congress and the Farmers' Association Congress at all levels, term 2023-2028. Focus on guiding the preparation for the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress at all levels, term 2024-2029. Actively participate in people's foreign affairs activities.

However, grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members, association members and the people; orienting the ideology of cadres and association members is sometimes, somewhere, and in some cases not timely; especially in the work of site clearance in some places is still limited; supervision work in some places is still limited; social criticism activities at the grassroots level mainly stop at participating in giving opinions on draft documents of Party committees and authorities when they are sent for comments; some enterprises still violate labor laws, owe and delay social insurance payments, do not pay union fees...

Regarding the key tasks in 2024, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Do Manh Hien requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city to proactively grasp and promptly reflect the situation of the people, opinions and recommendations of voters to advise and propose to the Party Committee and the government to promptly resolve outstanding issues as soon as they arise, contributing to ensuring political stability, order and social security; strengthen propaganda activities, mobilize people of all walks of life to implement the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee, and the political tasks of the city; focus on implementing the social supervision and criticism program in 2024; include the content of supervising the responsibilities of relevant agencies, units and individuals in implementing the announcement of the conclusions of the dialogue conference between the heads of the Party Committee and government at the same level with the people in the annual supervision plan.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the Party Delegation of the City Labor Federation and the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union to proactively coordinate with relevant levels, sectors and units to advise and urge the implementation of the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee at the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee's meetings and dialogues with union members, youth, workers, civil servants and laborers of the city. Strengthen coordination in performing tasks. Focus on building strong union and association organizations; pay attention to developing union members, association members and new party members. In the immediate future, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested focusing on taking care of Tet for union members, association members and the people. Implementing social security policies well, focusing on poor households, families with meritorious services to the revolution and people with meritorious services. Promoting the tradition of great solidarity and the spirit of "mutual love and support" of the nation, taking care of the material and spiritual life of the people, ensuring that every household and every person has the conditions to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet.
