The National 7-a-side Football Championship kicked off on a large scale

Since the 2022 season, the tournament has been gradually upgraded in terms of image, scale, prestige and influence. By 2024, the tournament recorded more than 100 large and small units accompanying, with more than 200,000 spectators watching at the stadium and more than 45 million live views through the platforms.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - General Director of Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company, Head of the Organizing Committee shared: "The tournament system with the core of the 7-a-side tournament is increasingly developing and becoming the pride of Vietnamese football. Over the years, the tournament has developed in both quantity and quality.

This year is the 6th season with the largest scale in history, held in 8 regions and the final round in Hanoi , bringing together 60 teams with a total of nearly 250 matches.

7-a-side football has become a popular form and playground, with the most players and is loved nationwide. We hope to continue to receive support so that 7-a-side football can become a source of pride and spread further domestically and internationally."

The 2025 National 7-a-side Football Championship will kick off on May 18 in 8 regions nationwide, including: Northern region (Hanoi); Southern region ( Ho Chi Minh City); Central Highlands region (Gia Lai); Western region (Can Tho); Northeast region (Hai Phong); North Central region (Nghe An); Central region (Da Nang) and South Central region (Khanh Hoa).

The strongest teams from each region will then compete in the National Finals in Hanoi at the end of July.

Notably, this year's tournament marks the first time a special showmatch has been held - where the best faces of the 7-a-side tournament have the opportunity to compete alongside professional football stars, national and former national players of Vietnam.

After the national tournament, the international 7-a-side football tournament is expected to be held in August with the participation of representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia...
