Binh Quoi - Thanh Da urban area, Ho Chi Minh City will have a 3,000-seat cinema center.

The planning of the new urban area of Binh Quoi - Thanh Da, Ho Chi Minh City will have at least 200 hectares of green trees and a 3,000-seat national cinema center.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a Decision approving the task of adjusting the 1/2000 scale zoning plan of Binh Quoi - Thanh Da New Urban Area.

According to the adjusted 1/2000 planning, the new urban area of Binh Quoi - Thanh Da is located in Ward 28, old Binh Thanh District (now Binh Quoi Ward) with a total area of 423.6 hectares (calculated according to the high bank of the Saigon River, excluding water surface area).

This area is planned to develop into a high-rise urban center with functions of housing, administration, offices, hotels, commercial services, culture and riverside tourism.

According to the population planning of Binh Quoi - Thanh Da New Urban Area, it is about 54,000 people.

Regarding development orientation, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires planning to reserve at least 200 hectares of urban greenery and water surface and to plan a system of parks, squares, and public spaces along the Saigon River.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested to study the construction of a new city-level administrative center in Thanh Da area, a national cinema center with a scale of 3,000 seats, integrated in the Thanh Da multifunctional area.

Regarding transportation, the plan orients the development of riverside routes, electric car systems serving tourism , enhancing multimodal transportation connections, green transportation, and at the same time researching the arrangement of metro stations and smart underground parking lots.

The technical infrastructure system is required to develop modernly and synchronously, prioritizing green technology and adapting to climate change.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires that the planning of subdivisions must ensure consistency, synchronization and conformity with the orientation of the Project to adjust the Ho Chi Minh City Master Plan to 2040, with a vision to 2060.

Binh Quoi - Thanh Da Peninsula, about 6.5 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The peninsula has an area of 426.9 hectares, surrounded by the Saigon River. As of the end of 2019, there are more than 16,600 people living here.

The Binh Quoi - Thanh Da New Urban Area Project has undergone many years of research and investment calls, but the project has a large area, high total investment capital, complicated and lengthy site clearance, so it has not been implemented for many years.
