Fulham secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Craven Cottage on the night of January 4th, thanks to a stunning equalizer from Harrison Reed in the 97th minute. This result extended the home side's unbeaten run in the Premier League to five matches.
Liverpool started promisingly but soon paid the price for their wasted opportunities. Cody Gakpo missed a golden chance before Fulham unexpectedly took the lead. From a pass by Jorge Cuenca, Raul Jimenez produced a delicate backheel pass, setting up Harry Wilson who fired a low shot into the far corner. Although initially flagged offside, the Welshman's sixth Premier League goal of the season was awarded after a thorough VAR review.

Liverpool were stunned by the goal conceded, and their reaction was rather lackluster, with only a single shot from Curtis Jones before halftime. In the second half, The Kop's attacking prowess increased significantly. Alexis Mac Allister's close-range header hit the crossbar before the visitors found the equalizer in the 57th minute. Conor Bradley broke into the penalty area and passed the ball to Florian Wirtz, who curled a left-footed shot past Bernd Leno. This was Wirtz's second goal in three games, and once again, the offside flag was raised before VAR intervened to confirm the goal.
Having failed to make much of an impact in attack since scoring the opening goal, Fulham were forced to push forward in search of an equalizer. Their best chance came when Alisson rushed out poorly, allowing Wilson to lob the ball over a host of defenders and hit the crossbar of an empty net.

Fulham continued to trouble Liverpool's play, but the visitors seemed to have scored the winning goal in the final seconds when Jeremie Frimpong's curling cross beat the defense and hit the far post, where Gakpo rushed in to tap the ball in from close range, making it 2-1 in the fourth minute of added time.
However, the drama didn't end there. Shortly after being brought on as a substitute before Liverpool's second goal, Harrison Reed received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and unleashed a stunning shot; the ball curved and hit the underside of the crossbar before nestling into the net. This goal extended Fulham's longest unbeaten run in the Premier League in a calendar year, while Liverpool were undoubtedly disappointed to see their fourth draw in their last seven league matches.
