During the event, in small discussions, experts and representatives of domestic and foreign businesses operating in the field of AI presented many notable analyses. Accordingly, despite impressive growth, Vietnam is currently ranked 28th globally in terms of in-app purchase revenue. This shows that there are still many opportunities for further growth. Vietnam's game and application development industry is also facing many challenges in integrating artificial intelligence (AI). These challenges include: (1) The shortage of AI experts and high-quality training programs, hindering the development of AI talent; (2) Limitations in accessing advice and guidance from leading AI names create obstacles in evaluating and building highly competitive AI-powered products in the market; (3) Lack of available infrastructure for rapid experimentation, testing and product development related to AI.

With a comprehensive suite of solutions, from AI tools to hands-on training programs, Google AI will empower Vietnamese developers and drive innovation. This comprehensive approach is structured around three main pillars: Building for Quality; Building for Revenue; and Building for Sustainability. This year’s program focuses on the advantages that AI can bring in revolutionizing the process of developing and promoting applications as well as providing many specific, real-life examples of Vietnamese developers’ success in the global application industry.

Previously, on the morning of July 11, Google also coordinated with the National Innovation Center (NIC) - Ministry of Planning and Investment to launch the program "Building Vietnam's AI Future", a comprehensive initiative to promote development in the field of AI in Vietnam.

The initiative focuses on two main pillars: Talent Creation and Enterprise Creation. Each pillar addresses key areas to support Vietnam’s human resource development, nurture a thriving startup ecosystem, and strengthen the foundation to maximize AI adoption.

The pillar of “Creating Talents” is the Digital Talent Development Program, which provides 40,000 scholarships with 10 courses, including the newly launched additional course – Google AI Essentials, to equip the latest AI skills for the young generation of Vietnam; including many officials, lecturers and students from more than 80 universities and colleges across the country. This is an upgraded program from the Digital Talent Development program launched by Google and NIC in July 2022. To date, the Program has equipped a set of important digital skills for 60,000 people of working age in Vietnam.

“Building Vietnam’s AI Future” marks an important new chapter in Google’s long-term commitment to supporting our country’s digital transformation. This initiative is geared towards the National Strategy for Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by 2030, emphasizing Google’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation.
