This is the fifth consecutive year that the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony has been organized by the Vietnamese community to remember the contributions of the Hung Kings in founding and defending the nation. Mr. Luong Xuan Hoa, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Udon Thani province, highlighted the great significance of organizing the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony, affirming that although living far from their homeland, the Vietnamese community in Udon Thani province is always proud of their Lac Hong lineage and always promotes the spirit of unity and devotion to their homeland.

We are happy and excited to carry the bloodline of Lac Hong, which is also the bloodline of Vietnam. We overseas Vietnamese in Thailand are still descendants of Vietnam.” For Ms. Tran Thi Tu, for the past five years, she has always dedicated her time to preparing for and participating in the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony with reverence and gratitude to the Hung Kings, the ancestors and origins of the Vietnamese nation. Ms. Tu shared that although she could not return to her homeland on this occasion, participating in the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony in Udon Thani helped her express her respect and devotion to her country.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Oanh shared that Hung Kings' Commemoration Day is an occasion for Vietnamese descendants to express their gratitude to the Hung Kings for their contributions to the founding of Vietnam. She emphasized that thanks to the Hung Kings, descendants have the Vietnam we have today and a unified Vietnamese nation. According to Ms. Oanh, this is a cultural tradition that needs to be preserved and passed on to future generations.
Beyond being a community-building activity, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in Udon Thani to educate the younger generation, those of the Lac Hong lineage in Thailand, to always preserve and spread the traditional culture of the nation, and to remember their homeland.
