The Hung Kings' Commemoration Day is an annual program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the People's Committee of Phu Tho province. After being interrupted in 2020 and 2021 and reduced in scale in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's program of overseas Vietnamese attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day is organized on the same scale as before with many innovative contents.
The program aims to contribute to raising overseas Vietnamese's awareness of self-respect and pride in the nation's heroic traditions, showing gratitude to ancestors, demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water" and strengthening national solidarity.
Organizing a delegation of overseas Vietnamese to attend the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony in 2023 also demonstrates the care, affection and responsibility of the Party and State for overseas Vietnamese, increasingly meeting their cultural and spiritual needs, encouraging generations of overseas Vietnamese to continue the good traditions of their ancestors, in line with the consistent policy emphasized in Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo : "Overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community".
