The Hung Kings' Commemoration Day is an annual program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Committee of Phu Tho province. After being interrupted in 2020 and 2021 and reduced in scale in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program of overseas Vietnamese delegations attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day this year is organized on the same scale as before with many innovative contents.

The program aims to raise awareness among overseas Vietnamese about their pride and dignity in the nation's heroic traditions, show gratitude to their ancestors, demonstrate the morality of "remembering the source of water" and strengthen national solidarity.

Organizing a delegation of overseas Vietnamese to attend the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony in 2023 also demonstrates the care, affection and responsibility of the Party and State for overseas Vietnamese, better meeting their cultural and spiritual needs, encouraging generations of overseas Vietnamese to continue the good traditions of their ancestors, in line with the consistent policy emphasized in Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo : "Overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community".
