On the afternoon of April 18th, News1 reported that actor Kim Soo Hyun sang a theme song (OST) for the Saturday-Sunday drama "Queen of Tears" on tvN. Written by Park Ji Eun and directed by Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won, Kim Soo Hyun also plays the male lead in this drama.
Kim Soo Hyun, who played Baek Hyun Woo in "Queen of Tears," expressed his deep love for Hong Hae In (played by Kim Ji Won) in the drama, creating expectations that the OST he performed would also contain similar emotions, as if Kim Soo Hyun himself intended.
Kim Soo Hyun's participation in this drama OST marks the 10th anniversary of his performance in the OST for "My Love from the Star." In 2014, Kim Soo Hyun performed the songs "In Front Of Your House" and "Promise" for the hit drama "My Love from the Star," in which he starred alongside Jun Ji Hyun.
Previously, although primarily an actor, Kim Soo Hyun often sang OSTs for the dramas he starred in, such as "Dreaming" and "Dream High" in the drama "Dream High" (2011), and "The One and Only You" in "The Moon Embracing the Sun" (2012).
"Queen of Tears" is currently one of the most popular Korean dramas. It achieved a 20.7% rating in episode 12, ranking second on tvN's highest-rated drama list, second only to "Crash Landing on You."
Reports indicate that Kim Soo Hyun received a fee of 300 million won (approximately 5.5 billion VND) per episode. His total remuneration for 16 episodes amounted to 4.8 billion won (nearly 90 billion VND).
"Queen of Tears" revolves around the thrilling and humorous love story of a young couple trying to overcome a marital crisis.
Kim Soo Hyun plays Baek Hyun Woo, the legal director of Queens Group. Meanwhile, Kim Ji Won plays his wife, Hong Hae In, the third-generation heiress of Queens Group, who owns Queens Department Store.
