On the afternoon of April 18, News1 reported that actor Kim Soo Hyun sang an OST for tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama "Queen of Tears." This is a work written by Park Ji Eun, directed by Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won, and also a film in which Kim Soo Hyun plays the male lead.
Kim Soo Hyun, who plays Baek Hyun Woo in “Queen of Tears,” expressed his passionate love for Hong Hae In (played by Kim Ji Won) in the drama, creating expectations that the OST he performed will also contain similar emotions conveyed by Kim Soo Hyun himself.
Kim Soo Hyun's participation in this drama OST marks 10 years since the OST "My Love from the Star". In 2014, Kim Soo Hyun performed the songs "In Front of Your House" and "Promise" for the hit drama "My Love from the Star" in which he starred with Jun Ji Hyun.
Before that, although he was an actor, Kim Soo Hyun sang OSTs many times for the movies he acted in such as "Dreaming" and "Dream High" in the movie "Dream High" (2011), "The one and only you" in "The Moon Embracing the Sun" (2012).
"Queen of Tears" is currently the most popular Korean TV series. The film achieved a rating of 20.7% in episode 12, ranking in the Top 2 of the highest rated dramas in tvN history, just behind "Crash Landing on You".
It is reported that Kim Soo Hyun receives a salary of 300 million won (about 5.5 billion VND) for one episode. His total salary for 16 episodes is 4.8 billion won (nearly 90 billion VND).
"Queen of Tears" revolves around the thrilling and humorous love story of a young couple trying to overcome a marital crisis.
Kim Soo Hyun plays Baek Hyun Woo, the legal director of Queens Group. While Kim Ji Won plays his wife - Hong Hae In, the third generation heiress of Queens Group, who owns Queens Department Store.
