Not just a policy but a consistent political commitment
The implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee on the development of the private economy by the province is not only a strategic orientation but also a strong affirmation of the consistent political commitment in building a dynamic, integrated and sustainably developed economy .
The province clearly identifies the private sector as an important driving force of the economy, no longer a "supplement" but a "pillar", affirming the pioneering role of the private sector in innovation, technology application and promoting national digital transformation in general and in the locality in particular.
The province regularly organizes dialogue conferences with businesses to listen and resolve difficulties and problems.
As evidence of this, over the past time, resolutions, action plans, and support policies have been issued continuously and systematically, reflecting a longer, more far-reaching strategy. From the policies of the Provincial Party Committee to the specific actions of the authorities at all levels, there has been consistency: Creating the most favorable conditions for the private economy to develop.
The province regularly organizes dialogue conferences with enterprises to listen and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles for private enterprises in order to unlock resources for socio-economic development. This is an important and different step for Long An , when the gap between the government and enterprises is shortened, administrative procedures are no longer a barrier but become a support to promote investment and business activities.
Small business - big aspirations
The province not only focuses on attracting large corporations but also pays special attention to nurturing the local business ecosystem, taking small and medium enterprises as the foundation for sustainable and widespread development. Many enterprises, although limited in scale, have great aspirations and a spirit of reaching out, always proactively approaching digital transformation and modern management.
Many enterprises in Long An have gradually transformed themselves into prestigious brands, not only in the province but also reaching out to the regional and national levels, even exporting. The desire to grow is not only to increase revenue and expand scale but also to contribute to the overall development of the province, create jobs, increase income for workers and affirm the value of private enterprises in Long An in the new era.
Provincial leaders regularly visit businesses to promptly grasp and remove difficulties, building an attractive investment environment.
The provincial government has seen the great potential of the private economic sector, and has therefore had practical accompanying policies: Support access to preferential capital sources, training in management skills, consulting on technological innovation, promoting industry linkages, expanding markets to encourage business households to transform into enterprises, always accompanying enterprises from the time of learning about the investment environment to receiving investment, implementing operational projects, developing markets, expanding production and business, etc.
This is a clear demonstration of the political commitment to "fostering" the aspirations of entrepreneurs, while concretizing the spirit of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW in a very practical way and close to the needs of local businesses.
Growth is no longer the only goal
A special highlight in Long An’s approach to implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW is that the province not only focuses on pure economic growth indicators but also sets a longer-term vision: Sustainable development, innovation, regional connectivity and improving the quality of life for the people. This is a step that demonstrates the mettle and strategic thinking of local leaders - a development choice that does not pursue quantity but also improves quality, depth and spread.
A clear demonstration of this orientation is the province's strong and focused investment in the fields of transport infrastructure, clean energy, and vocational education - fundamental and essential fields for long-term development but not immediately attractive to the private sector due to long payback periods or high costs.
The expansion of strategic transport routes connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces, the development of ecological industrial parks and clusters, the improvement of the power grid and investment in vocational training centers have contributed to creating a synchronous, attractive and sustainable development environment for all types of enterprises.
Notably, Long An is also a pioneer in building a creative startup ecosystem, proactively establishing startup spaces, supporting intellectual property registration and protection, organizing innovation competitions, investment connection forums - all with the goal of creating a "nurturing ecosystem" instead of just "instant support". This thinking is very progressive because it creates conditions for startups, especially young businesses, to experiment, fail, and grow in a flexible, open, and highly connected environment.
Through these specific actions, Long An has gradually built the image of a locality that is not only an attractive "investment destination" but also a "future starting point" for the private economy to develop and create breakthroughs, demonstrating a consistent political commitment to developing the private economy, not only exploiting available resources but also creating a sustainable foundation for long-term, creative and responsible development.
What is the future for the private economy in Long An?
It can be said that the business environment in Long An has become much more open. The administrative system is streamlined and more transparent; the government serves instead of manages; information is public, dialogue is maintained. However, open institutions are only a necessary condition. The sufficient condition to turn opportunities into reality lies in the internal capacity of enterprises, which Long An is also facing many challenges.
It is undeniable that many private enterprises in the province are still limited in terms of management capacity, finance, technology and long-term development strategy. This is the reason why a paradox occurs: the government proactively invites investment but enterprises in the province are not strong enough to take the lead in investment waves and cannot participate deeply in the global supply chain. This is the “gap” between policy and practice and the reason why investing in local enterprise capacity should be considered a strategic priority.
Long An is at an important "crossroads". With a strong institutional foundation, a positive investment environment and a clear development vision, the province expects and is actively striving to transform the private economic sector into a "main actor" in the growth scenario.
The province understands that private enterprises need an ecosystem in which they are encouraged to innovate, protected from risks and inspired to grow, not just to survive and maintain “numbers”.
It is a long story, requiring not only the determination of leaders at all levels but also the courage of enterprises to rise up because developing the private economy is not a sprint but a long journey. Long An has started that journey with the right steps and, more importantly, with a spirit of openness and real companionship between the government and enterprises./.
