Specifically, at approximately 11 PM on November 18th, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province (PC07) received a report of a critical situation. A young child (residing in the area of 23 Tháng 10 Street, Nha Trang Ward) had choked on a foreign object and needed urgent medical attention, but was isolated due to rising floodwaters.
The water level in this area exceeded 0.8m, posing a danger to movement. The PC07 force quickly used a lifeboat to reach the area and rescue the child from the flood. The child was then handed over to medical personnel for emergency treatment. Currently, the child is out of danger.
Also on the night of November 18th, in the mountainous area, the Khanh Vinh commune police successfully rescued three people from Suoi Cat village. The group had gone to their fields and were trapped due to the rapidly rising and fast-flowing floodwaters of the Khe River. Local authorities mobilized on-site forces to reach and bring the three people home safely.
Authorities in Khanh Hoa province have issued an emergency warning about flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas along rivers and streams and low-lying areas. In Khanh Vinh commune, where the Khe River is rising rapidly and flowing fiercely, local authorities have issued a strict warning, urging residents to absolutely avoid dangerous areas and to strictly follow evacuation instructions from authorities to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Currently, the PC07 force, the Police, and the Military Command of Khanh Hoa province are maintaining a state of readiness at hotspots to respond and assist people in relocating to safe shelters.
