Klopp: 'I don't miss anything about coaching'

Klopp no longer wants to continue being a coach.

Klopp shared on The Athletic : "I don't miss anything in my coaching career. I was happy to see Arne Slot's Liverpool play well, even win the Premier League. I watched a few matches, but I wasn't as excited as before. Instead, I played sports , spent time with my grandchildren, went to the movies... normal things that I didn't have the chance to do before."

He added: "If I went to Italy or Spain, everyone would say it was great. But if I went to Bayern Munich, Dortmund fans would definitely object. I finished at Liverpool when I was 57. I know I don't want to stop working, but I definitely don't want to continue being a coach."

Klopp revealed that in nearly 25 years as a coach, he has only attended two weddings, including his own, and four cinema visits, all within eight weeks of leaving Liverpool. He concluded: "I have been to many countries but only know the hotels, training grounds, and stadiums. Now I can enjoy life properly."

After leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2024, Klopp ended a journey of nearly 25 years of continuous involvement in coaching. He quickly took on the role of Global Director of Football for the Red Bull Group. Klopp oversaw the operations of many clubs in the system, no longer directly under pressure of performance on the field.
