Five officials disciplined.

Following the verification of images showing leaders of Long Chau commune gambling for money, the Inspection Committee of the Yen Phong District Party Committee, Bac Ninh province, has issued a disciplinary warning to five commune officials.

Speaking with a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Quang Nam, Chief of the Office of the Yen Phong District Party Committee, Bac Ninh province, said that the Yen Phong District Party Committee's Inspection Committee has just issued a warning to disciplinary action against 5 officials in Long Chau commune.

Images circulating on social media allegedly show some leaders of Long Chau commune, Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh province) gambling for money.

"Those disciplined include: Mr. Nguyen Ba Canh, Secretary of the Long Chau Commune Party Committee; two Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach and Mr. Nguyen Van Hung; Mr. Nguyen Van Trien, Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front ; and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lanh, Secretary of Ngo Xa village (Long Chau commune)," confirmed the leader of the Yen Phong District Party Committee office.

Earlier, in early February 2025, images and videos appeared on social media showing Nguyen Ba Canh, Secretary of the Long Chau Commune Party Committee; two Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee, Nguyen Hong Thach and Nguyen Van Hung; Nguyen Van Trien, Chairman of the Long Chau Commune Fatherland Front; and Nguyen Xuan Lanh, Secretary of Ngo Xa village (Long Chau commune), allegedly playing cards, with several sheets resembling money visible under the playing mat.

"Is it possible that the Party Secretary of Long Chau commune, the two Vice-Chairmen of Long Chau commune, and the Party Secretary of Ngo Xa village were involved in gambling and organizing gambling to balance their income?"

"We request that the relevant authorities and competent state agencies verify and clarify this matter," reads the content circulating on social media.

Subsequently, the Inspection Committee of the Yen Phong District Party Committee launched an investigation into alleged violations by the leaders of Long Chau commune.
