Ninh Binh is the first and only province to possess the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a World Heritage Site encompassing both cultural and natural elements. This heritage site is not only a treasure bestowed by nature, preserved and passed down through generations of Ninh Binh people, but also a place where historical and cultural values and fine traditions of the nation converge and are crystallized.

At the press conference, Mr. Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, stated that after 10 years since the site was recognized for its outstanding global values and other values, the tourist areas and attractions within the Heritage site have played a pivotal role in promoting tourism development throughout Ninh Binh province, making a significant contribution to the shift in economic structure from agriculture to services, towards green growth. The Heritage site truly belongs to the community, is protected and passed down by the community.

According to the Organizing Committee, the ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site is scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on April 26, 2024, at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.
This is the main event to honor the achievements and contributions of organizations and individuals in managing, preserving, and promoting the values of the Heritage, spreading the values of the Heritage, inspiring enthusiasm and love for the homeland and national pride in the younger generation so that they understand, know, appreciate, and are proud of the historical Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, and the position and importance of the Heritage to the nation, the people, and the world.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, provided information about the activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape being inscribed as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
In addition, there is a series of typical activities and events in response, such as: the Traditional Tet Festival (held in Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh City from January 19th to February 15th, 2024); the International Scientific Conference (organized in April 2024); the archaeological exhibition space showcasing the cultural values of the province and the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex (April 2024 at Khe Coc Island); the Ninh Binh Tourism Week “Golden Colors of Tam Coc - Trang An” (late May to early June 2024); the National Tourism and Culinary Culture Festival (late May to early June 2024 at Hoa Lu Ancient Town); the journalism competition on the topic of preserving and promoting the value of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; the songwriting and literary work competition about Ninh Binh province and the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex…
The Organizing Committee has provided detailed information about the programs celebrating the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape being inscribed as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
The cultural and tourism events held are of great significance in commemorating and honoring, educating and inspiring the younger generation to understand, know, appreciate, and be proud of their historical roots, the revolutionary traditions of generations of ancestors, the historical Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, and the position, role, and importance of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. They also strengthen community bonds, promote cultural exchanges, advertise and promote tourism, and bring the image and unique cultural heritage of the ancient land of Trang An to friends both domestically and internationally.
The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh province, a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, is the only mixed heritage site in Southeast Asia inscribed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in June 2014 based on three criteria of outstanding universal values: Criterion V – cultural values, Criterion VII – aesthetic values, and Criterion VIII – geological and geomorphological values.
