The program was organized by the People's Public Security Party Committee ( Ministry of Public Security ) in coordination with the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province, implemented by the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security), on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025); 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); 80 years of the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).
The program took place at the Monument Square of Heroes and Martyrs of Tay Ninh province at 8:10 p.m. on April 12, broadcast live on VTV1 channel, and rebroadcast on TNTV and ANTV channels.
“Memories Left Behind” was written and directed by Master Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, has a duration of 90 minutes, including 3 chapters and 6 scenes. Of which, chapter I is “Red Memory of Spring Bridge”, chapter II is called “Legendary Truong Son Road”, chapter III is about “Fire Land of Tay Ninh”.
The main content of the program depicts the life and revolutionary career of Colonel To Quyen and his predecessors at the Central Office of the South and the Central Security Department of the Southern Office. From his childhood in his hometown of Xuan Cau to his adulthood participating in revolutionary activities, the days of fighting on the Tay Ninh battlefield, the image of Colonel To Quyen represents the bravery and loyalty of the previous generation.
This is the first political and artistic program of the Department of Political Work staged in a semi-realistic format, aiming to highlight the feats and silent sacrifices of the security forces in the resistance war against the US to save the country; demonstrating the peak of solidarity and determination of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to create a golden page of history with the great victory of Spring 1975, with unforgettable memories left on the land of Tay Ninh and the Southern battlefield.
"Memories Left Behind" was staged grandly, with elaborate investment, combining epic political art and outdoor theater with modern technological effects, with a harmonious blend of cinema, theater, and ballet. The program had the participation of more than 500 professional actors, along with 120 Tay Ninh police officers, dog troops, cavalry, and many weapons; especially the appearance of Meritorious Artist Thanh Tam, Meritorious Artist Do Ky; singers Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Dao Mac, Khanh Ngoc, Khac Tiep, Hoang Ngoc...
Director Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh emphasized: “We hope that through art we can vividly recreate history, creating a bridge between the past and the present, so that today's audience, especially the young generation, can further admire the indomitable spirit and heroic sacrifice of our ancestors in the struggle for national independence and freedom.”
