Budget revenue from import-export activities in 6 months reached 54.2% of estimate

From the beginning of the year to June 30, state budget revenue from import-export activities reached VND 222,749 billion, equal to 54.2% of the assigned estimate, up 10.3% over the same period in 2024.

According to the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ), state budget revenue from import and export activities from June 1 to 30 reached VND 38,688 billion, down 6.3% compared to May 2025.

Accumulated from January 1 to June 30, state budget revenue from import-export activities reached VND 222,749 billion, equal to 54.2% of the assigned estimate, up 10.3% (equivalent to an increase of VND 20,874 billion) over the same period in 2024.

According to the Customs Department, over the past six months, smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods across borders, counterfeit goods, and goods violating intellectual property rights have continued to develop complicatedly, with many serious cases discovered on border routes, border gates, and at sea.

The main infringing items include: gasoline, functional foods, milk, medicine, cosmetics, cigarettes, drugs, gold, counterfeit goods of Vietnamese origin...

The sea route has a high number of violations, with 53.2% of the total number of cases, concentrated at major seaports, related to violations such as: False declaration of goods name, type, customs value, commodity code, origin.

The road route recorded many illegal trading and transportation activities, violations related to invoices and documents proving the origin of goods such as: Fireworks, white sugar, frozen foods, consumer goods, cigarettes; mainly concentrated in the Central provinces and the Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - China, Vietnam - Cambodia borders.

Illegal transportation of drugs, currency, and gold across the border has shown signs of increasing and becoming more complicated on air routes.

Violators and organizations take advantage of the openness of policies related to trade facilitation, simplification of customs procedures, the development of e-commerce, express delivery methods, consignment services... to smuggle, commit commercial fraud, and illegally transport goods.

From December 15, 2024 to June 14, 2025, the Customs authority detected, arrested and handled 8,561 cases of customs law violations, with an estimated value of violating goods of VND 13,614 billion.

The amount of money collected for the state budget reached approximately 461.36 billion VND. The Customs Department has prosecuted 8 cases and transferred 54 cases to other agencies for prosecution.

Also during the above period, the Customs agency presided over and coordinated with specialized forces to prevent and combat drug-related crimes, detecting and arresting 103 cases/110 subjects, of which the Customs agency presided over 43 cases.

The seized evidence was about 2 tons of various drugs, an increase of 94.7% compared to the total amount of drugs seized in the same period in 2024.
