The movement spread from the grassroots.
Over the past year, martial arts training in many localities throughout the province has become more vibrant and organized. This result is largely due to the significant contribution of the Provincial Martial Arts Federation in coordinating with specialized agencies to promote and guide the movement.
A notable highlight is the continued inclusion of traditional martial arts in schools. In many educational institutions, familiar movements and techniques have become commonplace for students. As a result, the martial arts training movement is expanding and spreading from urban to rural areas, from communities to the school system.

The province currently has approximately 250 martial arts clubs, classes, and training centers, and over 100 schools that regularly organize martial arts training, attracting around 15,000 students.
Mr. Doan Van Cong, Chairman of the Provincial Martial Arts Federation, emphasized: In the coming time, the Federation will continue to focus on developing the movement while improving professional quality. Recognizing the movement as the foundation, the Federation will also prioritize investing in training coaches, referees, and young athletes. When the movement develops widely, a plentiful pool of successors will naturally and sustainably lead to high achievements.
Impressions in the arenas
Along with mass movements, high-performance sports continue to be a pillar in affirming the position of martial arts in Thai Nguyen.
In 2025, the province will maintain training and competitions in nine martial arts disciplines: Wushu, Taekwondo, Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts, and Jujitsu. The athletes have strived to overcome difficulties, maintaining the intensity of training and competition with high determination.
The results achieved at 18 national and international tournaments, with a total of 263 medals of all kinds, reflect the effectiveness of training, the maturity of young athletes, and the dedication of the coaching staff.
Besides the competitions themselves, the organization of tournaments and the development of the team continue to receive attention. Many large and small tournaments are organized in the province, attracting thousands of athletes and providing opportunities for professional exchange and competition.
Training courses for coaches and referees are regularly held, gradually improving the quality of the movement.

Coach Do Thi Thuy, in charge of martial arts in Thai Nguyen province, said: "The grassroots movement is creating a fairly stable source of athletes for training programs. Through practical training, the physical fitness, technique, and training awareness of martial arts students, especially those of school age, have improved significantly. Many students meet the professional requirements to continue training towards high-performance goals."
Entering 2026, martial arts in Thai Nguyen face many opportunities for continued development. Building on the established foundation, the Provincial Martial Arts Federation has identified expanding training spaces, focusing on developing martial arts in schools, improving the quality of athlete training, and strengthening social mobilization to create more resources for the movement.
The goal is to organize 4-6 provincial-level competitions and 6-8 grassroots-level competitions annually, participate in 2-4 regional and national competitions, and send 30-50 coaches and referees to national training courses...
