The 1st Lao Cai Province Robotics Innovation Competition in 2025 is a playground to develop creative thinking, programming ability, robot assembly and problem-solving skills of students.
The competition gathered 39 teams from all primary and secondary schools in the province, including 22 teams from group R1 (primary school) and 17 teams from group R2 (secondary school). This year's theme is Robot - Smart Logistics , aiming at applying technology in the field of smart transportation and automation, a theme closely related to the current trend of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Also attending the program were Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province; Mr. Ha Duc Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Mr. Hoang Manh Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union, and representatives of departments, branches, and accompanying enterprises in the fields of education and technology.
In his opening speech, Mr. Hoang Manh Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province emphasized: "Each idea and each robot product today is not only the result of a passion for technology, but also demonstrates the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to conquer of Lao Cai youth".
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams entered the "Programming and testing the sand table" competition. Each team was allowed to discuss tactics and program fully automatic robots to complete tasks on the realistic simulation sand table.

In particular, the “Unexpected Mission” section - the highlight of the competition - requires contestants to think quickly and react flexibly to changing factors such as light, obstacles or sensor signals. This is also the section that best demonstrates the programming ability and teamwork ability of students.
The atmosphere in the hall was lively and exciting. Many robots were creatively designed, operated stably, and performed the tasks precisely as required by the judges. The cheers and tense minutes waiting for scores turned the competition into a real “technology festival” for Lao Cai youth.
After two rounds of competition, the jury selected the best teams. In group R1 (Primary school), the first prize went to Nguyen Du Primary School (Kim Tan ward). In group R2 (Secondary school), the first prize went to Ly Tu Trong Secondary School (Bac Lenh ward). In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 4 Encouragement prizes for each group, along with certificates and corresponding prizes.
Notably, the 20 winning teams in the competition will be selected to participate in the Final round of the 5th National Robotics Innovation Competition in 2025, held in Da Nang City in the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to the Organizing Committee, this is not only a playground for students to exchange and learn, but also the beginning of the Robotics movement in schools. The competition helps students to have early access to programming and automation technology - important skills in the 4.0 era.
