The "Good People - Good Deeds" movement has spread widely, becoming a distinctive cultural feature of Hanoi , contributing to building the image of a civilized and courteous city.

Seventy-six years ago (June 11, 1948), President Ho Chi Minh issued the "Call for Patriotic Emulation," officially launching the patriotic emulation movement throughout the Party, the people, and the armed forces of Vietnam.

Inspired by President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" and his teaching, "Each good person and good deed is a beautiful flower, and our entire nation is a beautiful forest of flowers," cadres, workers, employees, and people from all walks of life across the country, including Hanoi, have continuously strived to create a widespread impact in the patriotic emulation movement in all areas of social life.

Images of traffic police officers helping the elderly cross the road, sanitation workers tirelessly cleaning up the city day and night, or children returning lost items to their owners have become familiar to the people of Hanoi, symbolizing dedication, mutual support, solidarity, and helping one another.

These images also contribute to spreading the cultural beauty of the people of Hanoi, creating beautiful habits and lifestyles in Hanoi, and inspiring people, especially young people.

It can be said that, through its contributions, the "Good People - Good Deeds" movement has also played an important role in successfully achieving the goals and tasks in the process of reform, integration, and development of the Capital city.

In recognition of these exemplary contributions from citizens, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, also signed Decision No. 6243/QD-UBND awarding the title "Good People - Good Deeds" to 25 individuals.

This is a highly meaningful endeavor, aimed at commending, publicizing, and replicating many exemplary individuals with noble deeds, compassionate hearts, and contributions to the community and society; contributing to preserving and nurturing the noble traditional values ​​and cultural beauty of the elegant and civilized people of Hanoi.

Over the 70 years since the liberation of Hanoi, the continuous efforts of the Party Committee, government, armed forces, and people of Hanoi have been affirmed, driven by the aspiration to build a peaceful, beautiful, and healthy capital city, both materially and spiritually.

To realize that goal as soon as possible, the entire political system and people of the Capital are determined to promote emulation movements, striving to complete and exceed the set socio-economic development targets and indicators, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; building the Capital into a "Cultural, Civilized, and Modern" city.

In particular, further promoting the "Good People - Good Deeds" movement is one of the most important things to do to preserve traditional culture and continue to maintain Hanoi's position as a livable city.

According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, in 2025, Hanoi's "Good People - Good Deeds" emulation movement will focus on five key areas. The city will strengthen propaganda efforts regarding revolutionary traditions, patriotic emulation movements, and outstanding achievements of the capital and the country. This will create positive changes in the awareness and actions of all officials, civil servants, and citizens, so that the spirit of "Good People - Good Deeds" spreads widely and becomes a distinctive cultural feature of the capital.

The city will also continue to innovate and further improve the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements, especially the "Good People - Good Deeds" movement; paying attention to promoting emulation movements in the fields of: economic development, ensuring security and order, education, health, and building a civilized and elegant lifestyle for the people of Hanoi.

With the positive activities carried out recently, everyone hopes that the number of exemplary individuals and "good people - good deeds" will continue to increase, spreading widely and contributing to encouraging and motivating cadres, Party members, and the people of Hanoi to strive strongly, achieve many outstanding accomplishments, and make the "Good People - Good Deeds" garden of the Capital city increasingly prosperous and strong.

And it's not just the 25 individuals who received the honors from the city; other citizens living and working in the capital also need to be conscious and responsible in preserving and promoting the beautiful cultural aspects of Hanoi, contributing more examples of good people and good deeds to the community. This will help present the image of a modern, civilized, polite Hanoi, rich in cultural traditions, to the international community.
