In a conversation with Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Lap, Political Officer of Battalion 7 (Army Officer School 1), who was assigned the responsibility of leading the commentary team, we learned that at the commemoration ceremony, the organizing committee selected 13 comrades from the North, Central, and South regions to participate in the commentary team. All members were carefully selected through multiple levels. Among them, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Lap had the honor of commentating at all three recent major events: the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; and this A80 mission. Remarkably, on all three occasions, he was chosen to deliver the opening remarks for the parade and march.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Lap shared that, to complete their mission, he and his teammates in the Commentary Team gathered early and underwent many days of intensive training under strict regulations at the Artillery-Missile Command Headquarters. There, he and his team members had to practice every technique, such as breathing control, rhythm, intonation, and articulation. Initially, each individual practiced independently; once stable, they began practicing in pairs to coordinate voices from different regions; then, they practiced together before joining the main team.
To maintain their pure voices, the members almost never use stimulants, especially alcohol, beer, cigarettes, and spicy foods. “The job seems simple, but I and the other members have to practice our commentary from morning till night, sometimes until 11 PM. Everyone is exhausted. But thinking about the sacred meaning of the task, I and everyone else encourage each other to overcome all difficulties, ensuring the best possible voice and the highest pitch to blend with the marching formations, creating both grandeur and solemnity. And in the end, we did not disappoint everyone's trust,” Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Lap emotionally expressed.
Like Mr. Lap, for Major Tran Thi Kim Thu, a staff member of the Music Department (Military Ceremonial Unit, General Staff), this is also the third time she has had the honor of participating in narrating at such an important ceremony. Having studied vocal music and having hosted many events for the unit, Major Thu has many advantages in her narration skills. Major Tran Thi Kim Thu shared her secret: "Narrating is like singing; you need good breath control to perform the techniques of emphasis, high notes, and low notes. Before practicing, I and the whole team spend 30 minutes practicing our breath and voice."
Compared to the two "seniors" mentioned above, Senior Lieutenant Le Ngoc Han, a staff member of the Propaganda Department, Political Division, Ho Chi Minh City Command, is younger in both age and experience. However, Han's emotions and determination are in no way inferior. Le Ngoc Han shared that her reading voice carried the heartfelt feelings of the people of the South sent to the North. Furthermore, Han was strengthened by her grandmother's dying wish for her granddaughter to participate in A80. Therefore, despite facing many difficulties due to being far from home, her young child, and the changing weather, Han strived to overcome all disadvantages, pressures, and anxieties to excellently complete her mission.
The three exemplary individuals mentioned above, along with other members of the team, experienced a truly sublime moment in Ba Dinh Square on the historic morning of September 2nd, their voices filled with emotion, spreading love and reflecting the unique characteristics of various regions across the country. Their work was quiet, their faces rarely seen, but the contribution of the interpretive team was significant.
