Lang Son approves the Huu Nghi expressway project.

The People's Committee of Lang Son province has just issued Decision No. 2014/QD-UBND approving the Huu Nghi Border Gate - Chi Lang Expressway project under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model.

The project passes through the districts of Chi Lang, Cao Loc, Van Lang, and Lang Son City, with a total length of 59.87 km. This includes: the Huu Nghi Border Gate - Chi Lang expressway, approximately 43.43 km long. The starting point is at Km1+800, connecting to the road leading to the Huu Nghi border gate (in Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district), and the end point is at Km44+749.67 (in Mai Sao commune, Chi Lang district).

The route connecting Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates, approximately 16.44km long, consists of two sections. Section 1: Starting point at Km0+000 intersecting with the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway, ending point at Km14+353 at the intersection between National Highway 4A and the road leading to Tan Thanh border gate, approximately 14.56km long. Section 2: Starting point at Km0+000 (at intersection IC.07 Km7+500 between the route connecting Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates and the road leading to the Coc Nam border gate area), ending point at Km1+875 at the intersection between National Highway 4A and the road leading to the Coc Nam border gate area, approximately 1.88km long.

The Bac Giang - Lang Son expressway has been completed and put into operation.

The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway is designed for a speed of 100 km/h; the connecting route between Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates is designed for a speed of 80 km/h. The route includes 7 interchanges, 68 pedestrian underpasses, 39 bridges, and 5 toll stations. According to the plan, this expressway will be completed and put into operation in 2026.

The total land area for the project is expected to be 640.28 hectares (approximately 166.47 hectares in Chi Lang district, approximately 297.55 hectares in Cao Loc district, approximately 69.83 hectares in Van Lang district, and approximately 106.43 hectares in Lang Son city).

The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway project is being invested in and constructed to complete a synchronous and modern transportation infrastructure, connecting with the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh ( Cao Bang ) expressway. The project has been approved by the Prime Minister and the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, meeting the transportation needs of Lang Son province in particular, the Northeast region, and the whole country in general.

The completed road will be a crucial link in the Nanning - Lang Son - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor, creating a trans-Asian economic corridor, giving Vietnam an advantage as a gateway for trade with China and Southeast Asia, contributing to the rapid development of key economic sectors in Lang Son province, and creating momentum for Lang Son province's rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, becoming one of the growth poles and economic centers of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
