At the conference, Mr. Pham Van Quyen, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, reported on the results of the first six months of the year and the implementation of tasks for the last six months of 2024. Accordingly, in the first six months of 2024, the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village actively and proactively implemented a comprehensive range of activities, successfully completing the planned objectives. Internal unity and stability prevailed; civil servants, employees, and workers demonstrated a sense of responsibility in performing their duties. The Party organization and other mass organizations continued to operate effectively, contributing to the successful completion of assigned tasks.

In the first six months of the year, the Management Board organized the reception and service for more than 46 ethnic communities, with 560 ethnic people from 70 localities participating in event activities; recreating 16 unique festivals, rituals, and customs, including 3 festivals and rituals organized and performed by the ethnic people in their daily lives; and 21 performance and exchange activities, including 2 activities showcasing national intangible cultural heritage; 5 exhibitions and displays; and 1 activity introducing the local cultural and tourism festival.
Maintain the daily activities of 16 ethnic minority groups such as: Nung, Tay (Thai Nguyen), Mong ( Ha Giang ), Dao (Ba Vi, Hanoi), Muong (Hoa Binh), Thai (Son La)... In addition, continue to organize experiential activities associated with the cultural characteristics of each ethnic group to meet the needs of tourists who want to visit, learn about ethnic culture and participate in experiential activities; continue to implement the evaluation of the organization of daily activities for each ethnic group and send the results to the coordinating localities.
Trinh Ngoc Chung, Acting Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village, delivered a speech at the conference.
In the first six months of 2024, the number of visitors reached approximately 282,000, achieving 51.2% of the planned target. Of these, about 580 groups (approximately 99,000 visitors) had guided tours; about 350 groups (46,500 visitors) used local services; and about 430 groups registered for experiences at ethnic minority villages.
Regarding publicity and promotion: The Management Board effectively carries out communication and promotion on its fanpage and website about activities, programs, and events at the "Village"; regularly coordinates with and provides information to television channels and newspapers to serve the publicity and promotion of the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village.
Regarding planning and investment promotion: The Management Board regularly contacts, exchanges information, and works with a number of potential investors; finalizes the plan for implementing investment promotion activities in 2024…

However, alongside the achievements, Mr. Pham Van Quyen also pointed out some difficulties and limitations such as: The management, organization, and operation model of the Management Board has not yet been approved by the Prime Minister, leading to some obstacles and shortcomings in implementation, especially in planning and investment attraction. This is also a reason why the management and operation, as well as the advisory and state management work of the Management Board, face many difficulties. In addition, the staffing in the departments/divisions/centers is insufficient to meet the requirements of the tasks.
Therefore, in the last six months of 2024, the Management Board identified the following key tasks: Continuing to advise, synthesize, and report to the Ministry's leadership on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Management Board; Completing the project "Digital transformation to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, creating an environment for education, cultural research, and tourism development at the Cultural Village"; Chairing and coordinating with relevant units to organize the event "Week of National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" (November 18-23, 2024); Coordinating with the Department of Ethnic Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 7th Festival of Then Singing and Dan Tinh Playing of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups at the Cultural Village…
In her remarks at the conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the Management Board in the first six months of 2024. At the same time, the Deputy Minister also shared the existing difficulties faced by the Management Board.

Therefore, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy requested that the Management Board focus all resources on effectively carrying out the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism according to schedule and quality standards; coordinate with relevant units to successfully organize two events: the Week of National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage 2024 and the 7th Festival of Then Singing and Dan Tinh Playing of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups. In addition, they must continue to focus on caring for the daily lives of the ethnic people working at the "Village".
Furthermore, the Management Board needs to make efforts to develop and adjust its functions and tasks to suit the new phase, improve the effectiveness of promotion and communication to attract tourists and investment from sources outside the State budget. At the same time, it needs to be proactive, constantly innovate, and create many attractive tourism products to attract visitors.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy presented the Ministry's emulation flag to two units: the Organizing Committee and the Management Board of the Ethnic Villages Area, under the Management Board of the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village, for their outstanding achievements in the emulation campaign in 2023.
Responding to the Deputy Minister's directives, Acting Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village, Trinh Ngoc Chung, affirmed that in the coming time, the Management Board will continue to work together to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, the State, and directly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the same time, the Management Board hopes to regularly receive close attention and guidance from the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the development of the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village.
