Lao Cai: 46 children with facial deformities receive free surgery

46 children with maxillofacial deformities in Lao Cai province have just received free surgery at Hanoi E Hospital, of which 41 children were assigned and operated on from August 26 to August 29 and 5 children were scheduled for surgery in October 2025.

This is the second phase of the 2025 free examination and surgery program for children with disabilities sponsored by the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health in conjunction with the Vietnam Children's Fund and Operation Smile Vietnam.

The children who received surgery this time were those with cleft lip from 4 months old and weighing 6 kg or more; children with cleft palate from 12 months old and weighing 8 kg or more; patients with sequelae of cleft lip and palate at all ages (lip scars, palatal septum, nasal deformities); patients with other facial and jaw deformities (hemangioma, melanoma); patients with congenital ptosis (not an ophthalmological disease);...

Children are exempted from all costs for surgery.

In addition to being fully supported for surgery costs, children assigned to surgery are also supported by sponsors with food and travel expenses.

Families with children with facial deformities come for examination in the hope that their children will receive free and comprehensive treatment.
