Lao Cai provides free health check-ups for its residents at least once a year.

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province will hold a ceremony to launch the free periodic health check-up and screening program for people in the province in 2026 at 8:00 AM on June 5th.

The program was implemented simultaneously at multiple locations, including: An Tien Industries Joint Stock Company (Southern Industrial Park, Van Phu Ward) and the communes and wards of Yen Binh, Mau A, Muong Khuong, and Cam Duong.

According to the plan, free health check-ups and screenings will be conducted throughout the province during the period 2026-2030, with the goal of ensuring that each citizen receives at least one check-up per year.

This is one of the specific tasks implementing Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025, of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health.

Through this program, Lao Cai aims to shift strongly from a mindset of "diagnosis and treatment" to "disease prevention, early detection, management, care, and comprehensive, continuous health improvement throughout the life cycle," while promoting a nationwide movement for proactive health care.

The launching ceremony is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, mobilizing the synchronized participation of the entire political system and the people in implementing regular health check-ups and free screening throughout the province.

According to the plan, all 99/99 communes and wards in the province will simultaneously respond and organize health check-ups for residents immediately after the launching ceremony.

Through this program, Lao Cai province also hopes to raise awareness and responsibility among each citizen in proactively protecting and caring for their own health, the health of their family, and the community; and at the same time accelerate the progress of universal health check-up coverage by 2026.

The province aims to ensure that at least 50% of its population receives free routine health check-ups or screenings by June 2026.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, specialized agencies will simultaneously implement activities such as regular health check-ups and free screenings for people throughout the province, ensuring the achievement of the goals and targets set out in the plan.
