Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife Naly Sisoulith will pay a state visit to Cambodia next week.

According to the Khmer Times , at a meeting yesterday, April 18, Chhin Ketna, Secretary-General of the Cambodian National Committee for the Organization of National and International Festivals, stated that a high-level delegation from Laos, led by President Thongloun Sisoulith, will arrive in Phnom Penh on April 23.
During his two-day visit, President Thongloun Sisoulith will meet with King Norodom Sihamoni, Senate President Hun Sen, National Assembly President Khuon Sudary, and Prime Minister Hun Manet.
According to a statement from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the visit aims to strengthen and deepen the traditional friendship and enhance the comprehensive and sustainable strategic partnership between Laos and Cambodia, making it even more effective.
Kin Phea, Director of the Institute of International Relations at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said that the frequent exchange of visits between Cambodian and Lao leaders reflects the good relationship between the two countries.
Stating that "Cambodia and Laos are less hostile to each other," Kin Phea expressed confidence that the Lao President's visit would "contribute to deepening the relationship and cooperation between the two countries."
According to the expert, the good neighborly relations between the two countries are connected by historical, geographical, cultural, linguistic, and Buddhist ties, as well as people-to-people connections.
Last month, Prime Minister Hun Manet made a two-day official visit to Laos, meeting with President Thongloun Sisoulith and his counterpart Sonexay Siphandone.
