According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in China, on June 2nd, in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper co-chaired the 11th China-UK Strategic Dialogue.
Wang Yi said that during Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to China earlier this year, the leaders of the two countries reached important consensus on developing a long-term, stable comprehensive strategic partnership.
Currently, exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in many fields have been fully restored and are gradually getting back on track. Both sides need to continue exchanging views, implementing the important agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries, strengthening high-level exchanges, and promoting the achievement of more practical and concrete results.
Wang Yi expressed hope that the UK would provide a fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, creating a favorable atmosphere for the development of bilateral relations and deepening cooperation.
For her part, Yvette Cooper stated that the agreement between the leaders of the two countries to build a long-term, stable, comprehensive strategic partnership is very important and in the best interests of both sides.
In the context of the current complex international situation, the two countries need to strengthen dialogue and cooperation to jointly address challenges. The UK is ready to work with China to maintain close high-level exchanges, promote institutional dialogue, and deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, finance, energy, artificial intelligence, and climate change.
He is ready to work with China to manage differences constructively through frank dialogue and promote the healthy and stable development of UK-China relations.
During the Dialogue, the two sides also exchanged views on issues such as Iran and Ukraine.
