Speaking after the 2024 Australian Open final, Jannik Sinner shared: "My family has been watching me play back home. From a young age, I've been able to pursue my passion for sports without pressure. I wish everyone had that luck, and I have so much to thank my family."
I also want to congratulate Daniil Medvedev for having a fantastic tournament. We've met in several finals. I always try to improve my skills after each match. Facing Medvedev has helped me improve significantly."

Sinner lost the first two sets to Medvedev 3-6. However, in the next two sets, the Italian player won both 6-4 to take the match to a fifth set. In the deciding set, Jannik Sinner won 6-3 and became the 2024 Australian Open champion after nearly four hours of play.
This marks the first time in his career that Jannik Sinner has won a Grand Slam title. The 2024 Australian Open championship for the 22-year-old is even more significant as he defeated defending champion Djokovic in the semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner became the first Italian player to win the Australian Open. He was also the second Italian player to win a Grand Slam in the Open Era, after Adriano Panatta (Roland Garros 1976).
The player born in 2001, along with Dominic Thiem (US Open 2020), became only the second player in history to successfully come back from losing the first two sets in a final to win his first Grand Slam title.
