The welcoming ceremony for Indonesian President Joko Widodo's state visit to Vietnam was solemnly held according to the highest protocol reserved for heads of state,with President Vo Van Thuong presiding over the welcoming ceremony. A 21-gun salute resounded to the national anthems of the two countries.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders held talks, witnessed the signing of documents and met with the press. It is expected that today, the Indonesian President will also meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; and together with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, will meet with a number of typical businesses of Vietnam and Indonesia.

Previously, President Joko Widodo laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and laid flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.
